About Canary
We're on a mission to reduce waste with simple, package free options that are good for you and good for the planet. Everything in our shop can be refilled, reused or recycled back into nature at the end of its life.
We want to make living a low impact lifestyle enjoyable and easy. The Zero Waste movement is all about waste reduction. Although the "Zero" can feel impossible at first, little steps to reduce single-use products actually do make a difference. At Canary, we take the guess work out. We research and heavily vet all of our products to ensure that our customers are receiving only the best and most sustainable products.
We believe it should be easy to shop sustainably. When you visit our refillery, you can bring your own containers with you to refill quality cleaners, soaps and personal care products without all of the packaging waste. We also offer a curated selection of low impact lifestyle items that are sustainably sourced alternatives to plastic and single-use products.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They have a great variety of bulk (zero waste) goods ranging from bathroom to kitchen. In the past, I've purchased dish soap, dishwasher tablets, and laundry detergent powder, which have all been great!! I really love that the dish soap is scent and dye free.
Lately, I ordered extra sunscreen that didn't work for my skin tone and Canary was very helpful in letting me exchange the unopened sunscreen (for the tinted one). Their online shop and delivery system is really convenient. My go-to zero waste store!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful little store that carries many earth-friendly personal and home care items.
You can bring your own containers to fill with lotion, soap, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher tabs, oxyclean, cleaning vinegar, etc. (there are a few types of containers for sale as well). They carry a great array of reusable snack bags, containers, non-plastic straws, beeswax wrap, biodegradable dental floss, bar soaps, and home cleaning items (everything from sponges to brooms). Owners are very friendly, and weigh and fill your containers for you, and let you sample products (like lotion) beforehand. They have even found a specialty recycler that takes oral care disposables - so you can bring empty toothpaste tubes, old toothbrushes, and empty dental floss containers to recycle here (any brand!). It also sounds as if they are looking for people to take their large volume containers for re-use afterwards, which will hopefully result in these very sturdy containers being used many times, instead of being immediately recycled or disposed of.
This is a great store and wonderful concept, I hope they do well and this becomes a societal norm!
The store is located upstairs, and may be tough to access for wheelchair users or people with strollers (there didn't appear to be an elevator in this building).

You may pass it if you don't pay attention as it's a common entrance to some other businesses..they have a nice selection of no waste products including bulk non scented products for refill if you have your own containers. Can also buy glass containers and other low or no waste products from them as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love Canary and I wish more people knew about it!!! They are always getting new inventory and take requests from customers and on top of that their staff is so helpful and kind!!! Also if you didn’t know! They ALSO recycle toothpaste tubes, toothbrushes, razors, and even chopsticks!!! So stop throwing these things out and stockpile for an excuse to visit canary!
