Canadian Sleep Consultants - Calgary

Went to the clinic yesterday with my son (8). Felt like we were inconveniencing the front line staff by just being there. We were asked 3 times for the same form. Very impatient and disorganized. Furthermore-the actual Dr. did not give a hoot about my son's actual symptoms. She was mainly interested in "selling" $1000 to cut down on wait time on mere testing!? I dont think so. They arent very good with children either. I'd rather take my son to ghe children's hospital. You might wait a big longer to get in, but its worth better quality of care.

My thanks to Alan for all his hard work to find me the right sleep mask and to advise me through the process., with care and concern for my well-being. His bedside manner as a highly trained nurse is apparent. Thank you for all your time and extra effort to resolve my sleep issues.

This sleep clinic has changed my life! Dr. Jay has spent so much time with me to discuss my ailment and has answered a barrage of questions with knowledgeable and informative answers. He cares so much about his patients and their wellbeing. I’ve learned so much from this clinic. Dr. Alonso has also been fabulous and he was able to explain the insomnia causes and came up with a great treatment plan for me that has been working wonders. I feel so blessed to have been sent to this clinic and the staff from the schedulers to the doctors and support staff are all amazing assets. I recommend asking your doctor for a referral right away if insomnia or sleep apnea are plaguing you.

I am very thankful to Dr. Alonso and his team for helping me sleep better and function properly during the day. Prior to seeing him and getting treated, It was very difficult for me to fall asleep and be able to sleep straight through the night. Dr. Alonso was able to discuss available treatment options for me and we both arrived at the best one given my needs.

I must say that this was a great experience from Dr. Allonso down to the sleep tech Allen. I came in needing a second opinion. After walkinging into the Canadian sleep consultants Dr Allonso and his sleep Tech - Allen were very professional and knowledgeable. The sleep Tech- Allen answered all of my questions about their level 3 sleep testing machine, the CPAP machines, and explained to me how with his schooling background he could assist me with an ability to truly read over the sleep test in great detail and seemed very knowledgeable about setting up the CPAP machines and how to adjust them very specifically for what would be optimal for my needs. He listened very well about my questions and concerns and helped me find solutions and helped assist in getting the proper insurance paperwork etc. needed to move forward. I am grateful that I went for this 2nd opinion with the Canadian Sleep Consultants.,as my 1st diagnosis was not accurate at all with company #1- the Canadian sleep consultants were very thorough and helped me get my sleep back on track and literally changed my life.

I have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea about 4 years ago. Dr. Alonso and the sleep techs have been very helpful and I am happy to say that my sleep has greatly improved and it's much easier to wake up in the morning. No more feeling sleepy in the afternoon :-) Initially, CPAP was hard but I got used to the therapy with the help of everyone at the clinic.

I started coming to Canadian sleep consultants a little leases that year ago after moving to Calgary and it was the best mystery I have made! I was going to another clinic in Edmonton for years and they could t tell me why I could not sleep and just plied pills on me which made my lack of sleep even worse. After one visit here, they set me up for a new take home test and then after that they discussed my treatment and they discovered what some of the problems were and are treating me without drugs and my sleep is improving already. They are my life savers! I recommend anyone with sleep issues to make an appointment!

Mixed Reviews..... The Sleep Dr himself is great, seems like a great nice guy. The clinic itself is a rip-off. They will lie and try to sell you on using their service, but they do little for service. First the initial technician was a pain to deal with. She acted like the mask was going to kill me when trying it on. Next she insisted to use a mask without showing me options. I was back the next day to get a different mask. Then a week later I find out information she gave me was incorrect in respects to doing a rental. They expect you to wait a week when you aren't sleeping and trying to adjust to a new machine. They will tell you what they want you to know, so you don't know how to adjust the machine yourself for personalized settings. That might I add would not affect the "prescription" side of things. While someone I would classify as less intelligent might not see the games they play, someone who is and cares about their care would. Finally when deciding to not use their service portion of the machine, they will lie to you to attempt to buy the machine with service from them. Costs of the machine/mask/tubing is a lot lower online. They are supposed to sell service. When attempting to get the documents to buy the machine myself, they lied to me in multiple ways. Trying to say I couldn't get prescription documents and i'd have to return my rental before any forms could come back. Finally when getting upset and asking for my documents I was charged double than the inquiry for what I need. Now being said, 1 guy there was excellent to deal with. However as a whole, I am not impressed. Buyer beware, do you research. NOT IMPRESSED Dr himself seems great but time will tell how he acts as a whole for the situation. The respirologists/receptions will lie to you. Edit - To the reply from the clinic, this is my exact problem with the Clinic. For those reading their response. 1) RAMP and EPR are built in the machine. They are settings used first to adjust to a new machine. They come with a timer to shut off. Comments saying I adjust to "personalized" settings are around this is the clinic dismissing a lack of providing full information to support their "service". 2) Comments around costs for documents are not valid. I sent a clear email on what I required from the clinic. Was told $60 dollars is the cost. They billed $120, saying there was 2 types of documents. This was outlined right upfront. It is that simple. 3) Tactics and comments used dismiss the customer. Plain and simple they lie about costs, they lied about providing documents to push me their way. Do your research, this clinic does not look for your interests. Only theirs. Again not reflective of the Dr himself. But be informed before dealing with them.
