Do NOT insure with these people. I tried to get simple tenant insurance for my daughter...an hour wait, ridiculous questions, technical difficulties. What a mistake contacting them. I was put on hold 5 times. Run as fast as you can from them. The agent was inefficient, ineffective and lacked any professionalism. The most frustrating experience ever.

I switched to CAA because I thought it would be a good company. I was wrong! My car was hit in the front drivers side and it was a mess. I drive a 2009 Hyundai Elantra. So, they took my car to JJ Barrington's here in Sydney NS without giving me the option to take some place else. The cost of the damage was 6000 dollars and the agent gave Barrington's the go ahead to fix the car. I had nothing but issues with the car since. Lets be honest here, no way the car was worth 6000 Blue Book Value. The agent was very hard to deal with and would not allow me to have any say in bringing my car elsewhere. In my opinion this car should have been a write off because of the damage. I told the agent I was having major issues with the front end but she would not here about it. She kept repeating to prove it was from the accident. The problems are on the same side as the accident. Go figure. She just refused to listen to my concerns. JJ Barrington's is CAA Approved and this is why they didn't give me the right to take elsewhere. This Insurance company is horrible to deal with. I went for three weeks without a vehicle because they couldn't get me a rental. I had to pay people to drive me places and they wouldn't reimburse because it was not a taxi. So, I was out money for three weeks for travel. This company is a nightmare! Avoid this company. My biggest mistake was switching over to them.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. After an initial pleasant experience I was asked to pay for an electrical inspection in order to finalize my home insurance quote. Home is older so not a huge deal. My electrician drafted up a letter including his electrical licence number and they decided that because it was not on fancy letterhead they would not accept it (company name address and details were all in the letter). I had to hound the agent multiple times for updates and replies. A total waste of time. I will be shopping elsewhere for my insurance instead of wasting one more second with CAA.

You might get a low rate but will get the lowest level of care when you need them. My car was damaged in a hit and run on Christmas Day, 5 weeks later we still don't have the car back. The incompetent shop CAA recommended returned the car still damaged - they some how missed a visibly bent rim. Another week later the vehicle remains at the shop waiting for CAA to authorize replacement of the rim.

My friends and I bought travel insurance through CAA, which seems to outsource to Orion Insurance, which seems to outsource to Active Care Management. Although ACM did pay our claim in the end, it took them 2 months to do so and the process was a big headache. I understand that covid-19 made the process take longer, but 2 months is long in any circumstance. What was especially frustrating was that even though our claim was approved after 1 month, it took ACM a whole month just to process the payment. And whenever I called their customer service line, it took 1-2 hours before someone picked up. The whole process took way too much effort, and if I hadn't followed up so many times, they probably would never have made the payment. So overall, I would not recommend them.

DON'T BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I have been licensed since 1992 and had insurance with many companies. This is by far the worst I have ever dealt with. The ridiculous demands they make for minimal savings! They wanted a letter of experience going back to 1993. I went back as far as 2000 and stopped wasting my time. I had less hassle buying a new vehicle than getting the thing insured. BUY FROM ANY OTHER COMPANY BUT THIS ONE. I can't wait to cancel with them!!! If I could give zero stars I would!!

I don't understand the negative views because I have had nothing but great service from CAA! I have referred many friends and family for their insurance needs as well and they were over the moon happy. Can't beat the price for products. My elderly mother saved $600 a year from her previous insurance company which means a lot to someone on a fixed income. I even bought travel insurance which covered COVID cancellations. Thank you CAA!

I am in my Fifties, so my CAA car Insurance rate was good. However, when I tried to insure my 20 year old son (clean record for 3 years), they told me they only like to insure 'low risk' clients. How are our kids supposed to launch their driving careers when these companies let pure greed guide them. Btw, their quote for my son was more than DOUBLE current insurer. They wanted to make sure they scare youth away.
