โ โ โ โ โ Itโs an old building but has a lot of facilities. Library is small but has a good selection of novels. Wouldnโt really come here to study though, itโs really loud as right out the door is the community center. That means a lot of kids running and screaming in the hallways; their echos bouncing around and straight into your ears over and over.
Right after I wrote that , So glad one of the librarians went out and silenced them. Awesome.

โ โ โ โ โ It is a great local library. The staff were amazingly patient with my little one. They set him up with a library card, answered all his questions and helped him find the books he wanted. They made his first experience so enjoyable that he is looking forward to going back. All in all a great experience.

โ โ โ โ โ This is a great small library attached to a community centre. The staff are very helpful. We come here often to borrow books, for story time with my toddler and when it rains as there is a childrenโs area.

โ โ โ โ โ Noisiest library I have ever been to! I understand there is a rec center right out side- maybe they could have a door? People talk on phones, phones ring out loud , people yell at each other when they have conversations, seniors come in for their social catch ups, the librarians speak very loudly to everyone including to each other. They have changed the reading area around so it feels less private/more distracting. What happened to libraries being quiet zones!

-For readers or anyone looking to relax in the library, this library is great.
-Above a recreation center and gym. Swimming included.
-Friendly staff.
-Good amount of books.
-Cozy space
-Great for seniors and youth.
-Good amount of programs
Cons:
-For anyone who is studying here, there is a possibility it is difficult to if you are easily distracted. There are children and toddlers running around while making noise which can disrupt your focus. Main reason why I only come here to borrow books and study in a different library.
-Small. Not a lot of seats because of the space.
-Not a lot of options for books.
All in all, Burnaby Cameron library is a pretty cozy place to relax for readers.

โ โ โ โ โ This library is inadequate in size and collections for the number of people who live in the growing Lougheed neighbourhood. As others have noted, it is also a very noisy library and seems to double as a sort of childcare facility. Many libraries in rural BC towns such as Castlegar, Powell River, or Prince Rupert are larger, despite having a small fraction of the number of potential users. The BPL branches in Burnaby Heights and Metrotown are far far better. They need to upgrade this location. Lougheed mall is supposed to see over 30 new apartment towers built in the next decade...
