★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the original Burgoo and always has been my favourite one. I went for lunch and ordered the Butternut Squash Soup and Kale Caesar Salad, which were both excellent, while the other people in my group ordered the Cubano, Grulled Cheese Sandwich and Crab Bisque soup. My lunch was excellent while the others weren't as impressed with their food. I would recommend dinner over lunch and highly recommend the Beef Bourgignon stew, cheese fondue, and the biscuits. Service here is top notch. I'm not sure if they still have Mead here but it's an interesting drink if you have the chance to try it.

This is a death story of a restaurant being crushed under pressure. I used to frequent Burgoo quite often but I won't be returning anytime soon. I try to keep most of my reviews positive so let's start with the good.
Mac and Cheese was top shelf as always. Probably amongst the best in Vancouver. It took about 30 minutes to come out.
The not so hot was that it took almost an hour to get out soup and sandwiches after. I can appreciate that most places are busy with takeout and we are actively in a pandemic but the patio dining is put to the back of the queue for orders. There was other tables around that seemed to get their orders in a reasonable time but that wasn't our experience. When the meal arrived it was clearly slapped together. As you can see by my photos we recieved just cheese inside bread when we didn't order a grilled cheese. I'm not sure if I should laugh or be offended by this sad excuse for a sandwich. I'm pretty certain the Dos Diablo had sausage but there was none to be found.... the kitchen apparently said that the sausage was in there but I'll let you judge from the photos.
I think we can write this place off as a victim of their own success. Somehow when I came here a few weeks ago I had a good experience but this one was a huge fail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing break my heart more than this moment in my life as I watch my acquaintance eat what looks to be a spectacular winter meal of a sandwich and soup while I sitting looking at an empty bowl wishing that I had not partaking in the Mac and cheese which left more than enough to be desired. It is a terrible feeling knowing I could get off my feet and go back in the kitchen and beat the chef in a bobby flay style Mac and cheese cook off! Just know this review goes out to nothing other than the Mac and cheese. Great service and beautiful environment but just make sure to steer clear of the lack luster Mac and cheese.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ this place was recommended to me by a friend. as soon as i saw it i thought it was so cute!! the inside too, it’s very cozy. the service was very friendly and efficient and the FOOD. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING. i had the beef bourguignon and it was the best dish i’ve had in a while. the chicken pot pie that my bf had was also great. good portion for decent price. highly recommend!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The main reason to go here is for the cozy atmosphere which is excellent. Comfy wood, music at a nice volume to allow for conversations, very nice wooden bar if you're coming alone, good interesting beer and wine list (all local), good service, nice comfort food menu with some vegetarian and vegan options. My soup and sandwich combo ($19) was good but a bit pricy I think considering the serving size. The grilled cheese and mushroom soup were both good but nothing special.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The atmosphere and cottage-like coziness is why I always come back. As they say, they definitely have comfort food, no arguing with that.
I do believe prices are slightly high as it is comfort food the end of the day, and the portions are not anything crazy.
If you haven't been I do recommend - I recommend even if you have.
I will be back!
Their Mac and cheese is very popular, I was not personally amazed by it, but it was good!
