When I went to charge my phone (S8), it started vibrating and gave me the hazard signal. I took off the phone case off and realized water had seeped in and was all around the seams of the phone. I thought for sure I had water damage so I my phone in a bag of rice overnight. In the morning I called a few cell phone repair companies to see if they could get the water out. Kamloops Cell Repair Open phone to check for water = $20, walk in Get water out of phone = $100 Timeframe = 3-5 days Process: ultrasonic bath (special solution) for logic board removes mineral deposited on connections by water + then let dry over night. Doctor Phone Fix Open phone to check for water = free, walk in Get water out of phone = $50 Timeframe = 1 hour Process: ultrasonic bath (special solution) + UV machine to dry Brock Phone Shop Open phone to check for water = free, walk in Get water out of phone = $30 Timeframe = 24 hours Process: soak logic board in special solution that dissolves rust caused by water, plus manually brush off any rust then let dry over night. My thought process was that I wasn't sure if there was water damage so I wanted to take it to a place that would open the phone for free (i.e. Dr Phone Fix or Brock Phone Shop) but also to make sure the shop was reliable in figuring out if there was water damage. The person who answered the phone for Dr Phone Fix seemed like they were not a tech and couldn't really explain what an ultrasonic bath does and what process was with the UV light. I was a bit concerned that they would not be leaving phone out overnight to dry but returning it to me wthin an hour. When I phoned Brock Phone Shop , they explained to me right away that water will create rust on the logic board and the rust is what short circuits a phone. Their process is to dissolve the rust with a special solution and then to manually brush the connections just make sure all rust is removed. They also told me, how to care for the phone if I couldn't bring it in right away (i.e.bag of rice, keep phine upright to drain out water, don't turn on). What I liked is that they explained their process without any hesitation. I didn't feel like I was stepping on any toes to get the info. Most importantly, I got the sense they were the cool 'compter geek' type that reallly understood tech. Also they seemed the most honest and genuine on the phone. They said were only charging $30 (to get rid of the water) to cover their time. It's clear they are not out to take advantage of customers in an urgent situation. When I took the phone in, they opened the phone right away. It turned out there was no water inside the phone but there was a bit water/dried rice in the USB port. They ckeaned/dried out all the ports and resealed the phone. They had the phone back to me in a couple hours and only charged $20. The person helping me the whole time was Brooke, who turned out to also be the manager of the store. Like I said very genuine guy and really knows what he is doing when it comes to tech. I will definitely be going to this place next time, I have an issue with my phone.

My phone was hacked on Christmas Day. Pete did a scan and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. He wished me a Merry Christmas and didn't charge me. Now that is what I call excellent service! Highly recommend you stop there with any phone issues.
