Smoked Boneless Beef Short Rib meal with Cornbread starter. Overall really tasty. Slightly salty meal, so if you cannot have to much salt I would tell staff. It was delicious overall and the workers are very friendly.

Braven is a nice restaurant. Food was okay, drinks were good (I tried 2 different mocktails). Not sure I would want to go again soon though...maybe sometime in the future.

Braven lounge bar: happy hour 1130-1700 makes it a worthwhile stop though half off is still relatively expensive. Wings 12/$10: hot sauce on the side recommended. Calamari: crispy. Overall presentation: good. Service: excellent.

My husband and I were very impressed with Braven. I honestly don’t know why this restaurant only has only 4 stars out of 5 on Google. First of all, the space is elegant and has unique decor. Second, the service was great; our server’s name was Taylor. The food was also excellent. I had the salmon dish and my husband got the short rib dish. Both were so delicious! Also I had the Braven Sangria; it was light and crisp, quite refreshing. We would recommend this restaurant and will be coming back again.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. My wife and I were last night for our anniversary dinner. Our Server Susan was fantastic. She was funny, down to earth and made the fine dining experience fun. The food was EXCEPTIONAL. I have had the pleasure of dining in some high end restaurants across North America and I can confidently say this was one of the best meals I have ever had. We will be back!

Please note that I am not bashing the restaurant and I did not "hate" my food, just throwing my honest opinion out there for people to read. Braven is really nice, located at a new premium location, inside the Ice District. The renovations were great, a bit dark to even read the menu which is a nice rare scene in Edmonton. We have been to Braven's lounge/bar a couple of times before Oilers games, and we always loved their drinks (yes, it is a bit pricy, but location location location). Two of us ate at the restaurant on this particular night. We have been wanting to try Braven since the pandemic. We ordered the Seafood Platter, Ribeye steak, and the Smoked Ribs. We ordered the Braven Sangria, which is one of our favorite drinks. We arrived at the door and the hostess at the front addressed us right away, and we were seated in a short couple of minutes. The restaurant is beautifully renovated, the mood was great, but it was extremely loud. The restaurant echoes noises pretty badly, and we can barely hear each other as there was a few rowdy tables around us. The server was very polite and courteous, however, lacks the service of a high end fine dining restaurant. In fact, the experience was more like Joey's, or even a regular brew house. While I don't feel the servers are properly trained for fine dining, our server was extremely polite and we loved her. The first plate was the seafood platter. The Oysters were very very small (might not be in season??), and the Steak Tartar was very soggy. Although we were not happy with the food, the presentation was very nice. Then came the entrees. The server that dropped off our food was not our regular server, and he dropped off our food, zero eye contact, and we said thank you and he just turned away. The gentleman appears to be younger, and definitely not well trained. When a client say thank you, the worst you can do is turn your back on them. But again... it was really loud... maybe he didn't hear us...... Our main course: Ribeye Steak. No surprises. Just a steak that was like any other steak you can have at most other restaurants. It was definitely not worth the $68, as there wasn't anything spectacular about the steak. There were some asparagus under the steak and they seems to be unseasoned. It was not a bad steak at all, but we were expecting something more spectacular (like..... the Ruth Chris T-Bone steak). One thing we noticed was that the plates were served hot, but the plates cooled down extremely quickly, which was unable to keep our food warm, The Smoked Boneless Beef Short ribs.... This was the disappointment. The ribs was dry on one side, the sauce were great, but the dish got boring extremely quick. I am a huge foody, so I almost always finish my food, but I was unable to finish the ribs, as it was really tough to chew on, my mouth was tired from all the chewing and it got boring really quickly. Our overall experience with the restaurant is fair. It is rare to have a high end restaurant in our city so the location and the renovations were really appreciated. Braven is still young, and while we did not have a great experience with the food, it is a great place to visit and have a drink with friends.

Thank you to Susan for her amazing service & her humour! Her recommendations for eats was spot on!!! The phyllo wrapped butter fried cheesecake is absolutely drool worthy! Even though we were completely stuffed from the amazing meal, also her recommendations. The bolognese melted in your mouth. Thanks to Braven for a wonderful dinner & experience.

Although I did not actually dine inside their restaurant, from what I saw it is quite beautiful with a nice ambiance. Their patio is nice, but will be even better when the area construction is completed. We started with their Truffle Fries, which I HIGHLY recommend. I ordered the Lamb Sirloin (I love lamb) that comes with a delicious side of broccolini and a deviled tomato. Unfortunately, my lamb came on the more well done side instead of medium/medium rare.. although still delicious, this was a bit of a downer as it did effected the flavour of the dish and the server didn’t really offer to do anything about it. Considering the plate costs $40 and this is a 5-star hotel restaurant, I would have expected at least a suggested solution or even compensation for sticking with the plate. We also ordered their Smoked Boneless Beef Short Rib that is paired with mash potatoes and broccolini. The meat was packed with flavour and was extremely well smoked! I was super excited to try their Phyllo Wrapped Cheese Cake for dessert, but sadly the server failed to alert us that their was also a last call for food and not just drinks. That was a bit of a bummer, but if I do visit again, the cheese cake will definitely be on my list of things to order! As I mentioned, considering this is a restaurant in a 5-hotel I was expecting a higher quality of service from not just the server but even the host at the door. However, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so it’s possible they are a bit rusty from being closed for a while.
