Braeside Barber Shop - Calgary

Very good haircut, pleasant conversation and service. After the barbershop I used to go to was sold to a new and uncommunicative owner with amazingly inconsistent haircuts, Braeside Barber Shop is a very nice change.

I went for a haircut on Jan 29th, two days before (Jan 27th) I called at closing time and they offered me an appointment for Friday 29th morning, I asked how much it was going to be and the lady told me $17 which I though "that's a good price" so I confirmed the appointment and hung up For Friday 29th went to the place and all was quiet, they were not busy but it took a few minutes to start, I explained my request and the guy started the job; nothing complicated just a short haircut and nothing fancy, continued for 10-15 minutes or so with the haircut, when the guy was already cleaning the hair and basically "finished" the job, I have to ask for a mirror because he didn't offer any viewing, with mirror in hand I pointed few areas that were uneven and told him about it, he acknowledge like he got caught in a half done job (which was like that at that point) and he started to finishing the job for real and have to ask for a mirror again when he "finished", as he didn't follow instructions again, I felt to leaving it just like that as I was not satisfied with service and work done The "best part" of all of the experience it was the payment time: THEY DON'T TAKE ANY CARDS (which I can understand as small businesses struggle with payment fees) but THEY DON'T MENTION THAT THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH WHEN YOU ARE CALLING FOR AN APPOINTMENT, so I had to get out and drive home for cash, and THE INITIAL PRICE OF $17 AS I WAS TOLD IT CHANGED TO $21, (so a $4 "tip" OR 24% of the initial total price for a half baked service??) with no intention of create animosity or else I just accepted the price and paid them but not going back and I WON'T RECOMMEND THE PLACE OR SERVICES to anyone Writing this review at the time when I'm looking for another place to get a decent haircut, when I almost forgot about the whole "service" experience

Nice cozy barber shop in Braeside. The owner is a very nice guy and cuts hair professionally and quite time efficiently. I was a walk 8n and he took me immediately. You can stop in next door after to get flowers after your cut.

Wade fixed my haircut from another salon and then proceeded to tell me it was no charge! I am grateful and thankful, plus my hair looks great!

I had booked a hot shave a week before my appointment, but when I showed up on the day and the time of my appointment, I was told the person that does the hot shaves decided he doesn't want to do hot shaves on Wednesday. I was not informed of this when I booked my appointed and this person obviously doesn't care about his customers, to not honor a booked appointment.. Very poor customer service. I would have given a zero if I could!
