NEVER rely on their apps or bus schedules. They never update all the schedules so different apps and schedules say different times. I've had to last minute cancel appointments because of their inaccuracies, and today I'm late for work. Thanks Roam, you're the worst

We used Roam Transit on July 13 2021 from Banff to Johnston Canyon. We missed our bus but the Roam guide changed our reservation at no charge. The air conditioned bus was on time and very comfortable. The driver was very professional and explained where the trail head was prior to our arrival. We will use the service next time we visit from Edmonton!

For the actual bus service, I'm not sure what i could rate this. However in terms of online services they would get a 0. The tickets are stored on a single web page, not emailed to you, and re-accessing them without an account requires going through your browser history as opposed to entering in the email/code or something identifiable you gave to receive the tickets. Since we booked in advance, we had used our phones in the time between and therefore didn't have immediate access to the tickets. Further, like every other bus service in existence... even ones in third world countries we assumed the tickets would be emailed to us, they were not. The bus was already late so the minute it took us to find the exact web address our tickets were stored on had the bus leaving... Why would you not just email a copy of the tickets to the email that was given when booking. Every single bus service does this, i took a tuk-tuk tour in cambodia that had the wherewithal to do this.

Used the Roam 8X from Banff to Lake Louise. The trip is direct without stops. Travel time approx. 55-60 mins. The bus stops at the Lake Louise village and at the Lake itself. If your doing a roundtrip it's best to buy your ticket from the bus stop machine at the Banff Highschool. Ticket is $20 for the day pass roundtrip per person. No cash accepted on the bus. Overall was efficient way of getting to Lake Louise and back.

Be careful when you take this bus from banff to lake Louise. There are 3 stops in total ( including your stop of origin) when you get on this bus. Do not get off at the visitor centre- it will be an hour walk from the centre to lake Louise. That is exactly what happened to me and a bunch of other customers on the same bus. The driver played the announcement so quietly and the announcement itself was so misleading that a few of us got down thinking we were at lake Louise already. Called customer service and the lady was real friendly about it but couldn't help us with anything.

Absolutely horrible experience, extremely disappointed. What service, in the year 2021, does not email you a copy of your ticket as well as a receipt? My husband and I are on our honeymoon and we were very much looking forward to a day trip out to Lake Louise. We booked our tickets online so as not to lose out on a seat. Big mistake. As previously stated, they do not send any form of confirmation, whether that be over email or textβ€” they ask for both your email and phone number when you book, however. I know for a fact that my transaction went through because I can see the transaction in my records. I had asked the bus driver if he could somehow look up our tickets if we could show our ID to prove it was us. The answer was a swift no and we were booted off the bus. I’m sure Lake Louise is beautifulβ€” I’ll never know at this point. Put the money towards a rental car and just drive out instead of dealing with unprofessional services like this. $40 I’ll never see again and no refund. Absolutely abysmal.

I feel safer that everyone is required to wear a face mask inside the bus. There's free mask for those who don't have their own. Also love that we get free rides using the pass given by Ptarmigan Inn.

For a transit service that covers a huge area, I was impressed. Actually, I was quite surprised that there even was public transit in a small town like Banff! But it made getting around town much more enjoyable than walking in the rain. It's true that buying tickets and navigating their website can be tricky. It took us a few tries to fully understand the route system and which app to use at what time before we finally decided to buy day passes. However, once we got it sorted out, things went smoothly. There aren't as many busses running during non-peak season, so we had to plan things carefully. At one point during our stay in Banff, the bus was running quite late. I think a driver was getting trained or something. We were in no rush and didn't mind in the least, but I could see that it would be frustrating for someone on a tight schedule. I didn't see any notification system to let us know the bus was coming, just late. All in all, I'm grateful there is a bus to use in Banff! Parking would have been a nightmare, even during the non-peak season when we were there. Thanks to the drivers who take the time to drive us around!
