★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Findhorn Scotland, a most magical place.
I had a chance to travel to this northern tip of Scotland in February 2017.
Driving through Scotland toward Findhorn I discovered was surprisingly uinihabited. All the time I skirted a huge forest on my right and the odd village or hamlet on my left.
Then the twisted, hilly, curved road ran between the hills Braveheart had run complete with their bleakness, isolation, beauty and coldness. Very little traffic as it snowed . An occasional house dotted the vast countryside as I headed north.
Finally, hours later, I was on the highway running parallel to the North Sea. Eventually, signs were posted announcing the community of Findhorn. Right off the highway and a very wide road ( used to be a runway for the Airforce ).
Turning left were lots of buildings, so I parked in front of a centre.
Lots of green, wild looking bushes, trees, flowers all around. Houses with grass roofs, clever, creative natural wooden fencing, playgrounds in the middle of trees----------hobbittville!!
The singing, the chirping and chattering of the birds was mesmerizing. I found myself feeling like Snow White in the dwarves cottage when she
threw open the window. The birds and squirrels flew in to help her with her sink full of dishes.
Unbelievably joyful, ecstatic!!
I never heard a single sea gull just these wonderful birds. I had only been there about ten minutes!
Such friendly people in this eco community. No wonder people from all over the world travel here.
