I will say, if you are on the fence about trying it out, just come down and do the 2 free classes. By then you will see and feel what it's all about. The confidence built inside of me and my son, since we started 6 months ago, is immeasurable. Highly recommend giving it a try.
M	Matthew Chan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was in Kamloops for the weekend and dropped in to BOA Martial Arts school to participate in a couple of bjj classes. Wow! I am so glad I did. Professor Chad Freeman welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to drop in at the dojo. There is ample free parking in the plaza as well as lots of parking on the street. The location is very visible at the street level. The dojo is huge and very clean - good size change rooms for both men and women and a huge training mat training space. During class, Chad's instructions was very clear. He went over both technical and applicable aspects of the moves. I came back for an evening session and met the other instructors: Clarke and Seamus. Both instructors are very welcoming and inviting. The students are also all very helpful and were always more than willing to support me with tips and drilling. I noticed that the dojo caters to all walks including men who just wanted to get fit, people who want to compete and also children and women looking to learn self defense. I found the environment very inviting and warm and look forward to coming back. Highly recommended! This place is an absolute gem!

Everyone there is respectful, there to improve, and have fun doing it. The walls are lined with medals of the accomplishments of the many fighters who train here, but dont take my word for it go in and see for yourself.

The class was well thought out and easy to follow. Everyone was super friendly and I had an excellent time. Optional sparring after technique was excellent as well. Anytime I’m passing through I’ll be sure to stop by for some rounds ??????

Everyone welcomed me with open arms and the instruction from Chad was world class and super technical. I made a newbie mistake by forgetting to trim my nails and unfortunately scratched the neck of one of the guys and he was very understanding after I apologized profusely. I was hoping for an experience like this and in some gyms I’m sure they would want to smash you but even though I felt they could have easily tapped me, showed much mercy and we had awesome rolls. Thanks for showing me a great time!

I think if you have prior experience it's helpful because I didn't notice the teacher correcting technique as much as I would have wanted. It's something that is really important to me. The fundamentals, but I also understand that maybe a lot of people just come for fitness and care less about proper techniques. I found, like all gyms there is a huge element of know it all's and really cocky people. But it comes with the territory I guess. The lessons were very good though.
