Blazing Hearts Ranch - High River

Great facility. Great staff. Very friendly & down to earth. My daughter’s been learning to ride there for a few months now and absolutely loves it.

I called a number of times and got no response. When I finally did I got a text telling me very little information. When I asked for a call I heard nothing back. The reviews here are good my child missed out on an opportunity here and elsewhere as the service is not what one would expect. Is it that difficult to return a call?

The people who own this barn know nothing about horse care. Wouldn’t trust them to take care of a $0.50 goldfish. Never mind an expensive horse. The facility is beautiful but the owners ruin the entire thing.

Beautiful stables and very clean, my daughters really enjoyed their lesson there. Would recommend for western style riding lessons!

Amara is absolutely kind and knowledgeable. She has a great love for helping those reach their dreams and sharing her passion about horses and the horse industry. Absolutely one of the best facilities with the greatest people. Highly recommend Blazing Hearts Ranch to anyone of any level of horsemanship.

I'd like to give it a zero, but I can't, so I'll give it a one. When you first get there, the people seem amazing, the staff are wonderful, the facility is beautiful... it really feels too good to be true. Once you've been there for a while, the owner/managers stop returning your calls, disregard your concerns, and become at times blatantly rude and very scary. They treat their staff poorly, and they treat your horses worse. My horse had been fed moldy hay for months despite me telling them it was happening and asking them to remedy it. Horses are moved around paddocks and put in pens with other unfamiliar horses without your consent and without even telling you. During my time there, too many horses have been injured due to being put with horses they clearly do not get along with (without the owners consent), as well as being cut up on fences due to lack of paddock maintenance. One horse ended up being hurt so severely that it nearly had to be put down. Others have needed stitches; vet calls are frequent to this place. My horse was kicked and injured when they moved it into a pen with an aggressive horse and when I brought up the injury to the manager I was met with dismissal and uncaring. This seems to be a running theme; if you bring up a concern you have about the facility or your horse, you are shut down. If you pay for lessons, you will be treated better for sure, but if you just want to board your horse there, you are not given a second kind thought. If you want to leave you are met with animosity and manipulation, guilt tripping, and projected shame. ** This is not just my personal experiences either; I have spoken to so many boarders as they've come and gone, and each of them have agreed.** This place has so much potential, but the owners act greedy and selfish; utterly unkind, and at times genuinely terrifying. There are much better places run by much better people all around the Okotoks area, and if you value your horses health, not to mention your own mental health I highly suggest you find elsewhere. PLEASE be careful with these people, they are not honest.

Very nice stable. Lots of happy, healthy horses! Large indoor arena, outdoor arena and grass ring. Indoor (very cushy stalls) and outdoor board (paddock or field). They offer western school horse lessons and there is an English instructor available.
