About The Saskatoon Farm
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
A dream to live on the countryside34 years ago, Paul and Karen Hamer purchased an empty barley field where the Highwood and Sheep River meet, in the heart of the Foothills. They had a vision for something special and over the next 3 decades, they poured their heart and passion into creating The Saskatoon Farm. With horticulture backgrounds and a dream to live and work in the countryside, Paul and Karen began to plant every tree and shrub and build every structure from the ground up. Over time, the Farm has continued to expand from these humble beginnings to the current amazing expanse of gorgeous landscapes and buildings. Today, you will find multiple greenhouses full of plants and flowers, a beautiful old-fashioned street with unique gift shops full of eclectic treasures, a restaurant with an outdoor patio, a seasonal Farmer's Market with local and organic veggies, an annual U-Pick for berry-picking, and so much more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their rabbits are to die for! I took my kids here and they loved walking around the farm seeing the rabbits, the tortoises, and playing by the cliffside. Restaurant is convienient for lunch/brunch if you plan to stay for awhile, the food is okay, standard breakfast stuff. It's quite busy so expect a wait time when you check in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my most favourite places to visit when I’m back in Calgary visiting! Food is always amazing, service is always so friendly, and the grounds are all incredible scenic. This place is the definition of a dining experience! We always leave with baked goods, fresh produce or other home wares!
Don’t forget to stop and see the Tortoises and pet all the kitties on the way out!
My only suggestion would be to make some sort of overnight experience with European Shepherds huts or yurts? That would just make this even more incredible ??

Their restaurant is something to try when you are there. Everything tastes great!

It was the first time attending the spring market and there were plenty of vendors, food stalls and other activities to do. My suggestion for the next event is to provide something like a pamphlet/brochure with map to show what activities/facilities are located where!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We come here several times a year. We love their food, their garden, the views, their ice cream, their veggies. They have a giant chess set that my kid loves. We have so many nice pictures and memories from here. A must go for the whole family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s really nice place for visiting with family. You can feed the turtles, buy some flowers or trees for your garden. I totally recommend the bakery , they bake the fresh bread , pizza in the own . Also coffee was really good . And friendly stuff despite so busy day .
