Exceptional restaurant, food as authentic and tasty as I have tried in Bulgaria. Beautiful cozy interior décor, and generous owner. The French young lady at the counter the day I visited could use a bit of training in hospitality because she seemed a bit distant or even confused at my presence, but it's still a 5 stars from me, and I would order for my friends and family from here again.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Bistro Sofia last night (after I found it through a google search and decided to try it because of their glowing 5 star reviews), and it was such a delicious and fun experience. The owners are soooo nice, they're incredibly accommodating, and the food and wine are great value. We shared a bottle of wine (the most expensive white wine is only $34), the zucchini + garlicky yogurt sauce as an appt, breaded cheese with a fresh cabbage salad, fries, and mustard mayo dip, and the imam bayaldi (an eggplant and tomato stew with dried mint topped with salty cheese) which was served with a fresh green salad with radishes and cucumber. We were seriously full, but decided to go all out and order a cheese plate for dessert. Two soft cheeses, 3 different hard ones, crispy olive-oily baguette croutons, and olives - were a perfect way to end the meal and to accompany our last few sips of wine. If you like cheeses with a strong taste (like parmesan - feta) you need to get this plate. They opened up in December, and I have to give them tremendous credit for starting right in the middle of the pandemic and for adjusting so quickly to in-person dining. I highly recommend coming for dinner, trying a new cuisine (Bulgarian!), and supporting a budding business.

I really like this neighborhood place. Nothing fancy, but nice, hearty Bulgarian food, served by a friendly owner. Brunch is served with delicious bread and a variety of fruit. You want to have this kind of place near home.

Great place, great food, and even greater service! The owner who was extremely friendly and polite was at our service all evening! The food is very fresh and delicious and for a very modest price! I highly recommend this bistro! We had a great time!

Very good food and service. Had a very pleasant opportunity to speak with chef, who explained us the dishes and told about the dish of the day. Staff was very nice and caring. Food was homemade and delicious! Would give you guys 10 starts out of 5, if I only could.

Nice cozy restaurant, the food is as authentic as it gets. Service is really good as the owner's wife is waiting on the tables. The owner seems is the only cook and he prepares everything from scratch, so be aware that it may take longer than usual for your food to arrive, but once it does you won't be disappointed.

A tiny place with a lot of character: delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and you can even buy souvenirs or a cook book on the spot. We enjoyed our visit.
