Not from the servers but the management. I have dealt with the fellow in the black shirt several times over the years, (I assume he’s a supervisor) and cannot remember a time he hasn’t been condescending. Recently I watched him belittle a young employee (maybe 16), telling him to try using his brain, from across the room while the boy cleaned up cardboard boxes. This unprofessionalism was loud enough to hear from the deli, and it’s honestly embarrassing. I can only imagine how employees are treated when customers aren’t within earshot. The grocery’s are always top quality here, but as a regular it is clear that employee morale has gone downhill and it’s very disappointing to see from a ‘thorold institution.’

I asked about the quality of the poultry and he explained to me that all meat is given quality checks and is prepared right in front of the customer. His product knowledge to me showed that he is a seasoned big reds employee and his customer service skills are phenomenal. All in all, if you walk into big reds and you have Mitchell serving you, you can guarantee quality service and excellent product care.

Lots of amazing seasoned fresh pork, chicken and beef, and all kind of big size Italian sausages to try out and most important, all superb quality meat and delicacies are well priced and affordable.
