★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Big Island is an adventure, travelling across Crean Lake can be treacherous. We took a boat to be safe, but even boats were getting beached in 25kmh winds. Make sure you check the forecast! We got stuck an extra day due to high winds.
The trip was worth it though as the island is great. Nice lodge, at least two tent pads, one dock on each sides and raspberries to boot.
The fishing was great fun. We were limited by the wind, but still managed to reel in many jack.
Would highly recommend you try, but beware the winds!
