About Big Hill Towing & Recovery Service
Big Hill Towing and Heavy Duty Repair opened its doors in 1977 and has since been owned by three different families. Big Hill Towing and Heavy Duty Repair, a 42-year-old company, has been owned and operated by Jack Richards and his family for the last 22 years. Jack has a long history within the towing industry, having started driving for his dad's company, Red’s Towing, back in the early 1950s. Jack’s success in towing was evident in his consolidation of two companies, Buster's Towing and City Wide Towing, in the early 1990s. It was a natural step for him to consider purchasing Big Hill Towing, which operated in the town where all of his children attended school. His deep ties to the Cochrane community and his strong leadership skills made the acquisition of this company a sure success.
The mission of Big Hill Towing and Heavy Duty Repair is very simple: be available at all times to assist its community. And so we are—our telephones are answered 24 hours a day, every day without exception, and we are ready to help in whatever situation we are called to.

Long story short, Glenn picked up the car and towed it to my home. He professionally delivered the car was courteous and emphatic to my situation. Honestly, just having Glenn coming over and the level of professionalism he showed was much appreciated. Thank you Glenn!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They were exceptional from the nice girl taking my call with my cell service cutting out every 2 seconds to Matt who got my bike loaded and home safely! I was stranded outside of Cochrane and they were able to pick me up in under an hour!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife had a very frightening experience with one of the drivers for Big Hill Towing. She cut him off coming out of Riversong (she was completely in the wrong, believe me. I saw the whole thing). She waved to say sorry. He then proceeded to give her the middle finger and aggressively tail gate her. Thinking she was alone (I was in the backseat feeding our new born baby) he began following her down the 22 hill. Every turn she made after that, he made. Realizing he was following her, I told her to pull into the Safeway parking lot. When she stopped the vehicle, he came screaming up next to her and immediately hopped out of his vehicle. To his surprise, I jumped out of the backseat. He immediately stopped in his tracks. When I asked him what he was doing he explained he was “just pulling over to apologize for giving her the middle finger”. This was obviously a lie. Prior to leaving our neighbour hood that day, I had stopped at the mailbox and collected a large pile of mail. For some reason, I still had the large stack of mail in hand when I approached him. I told her he needs to apologize to me first and then her. He declined the apology and I ended up. Smacking him in the face with the stack of mail. Enmax bills and flyers littered the parking lot like a flock of seagulls. He jumped back in his truck and drove off like a mad man. Once he was out of sight, I collected all the mail as I did need some of important documents. This was a few years ago but I do feel it still needs to be brought to their attention. Chasing small women down in parking lots to scare them is not an acceptable action. Hence the mail slap.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Called GM Roadside assistance and they sent out Big Hill to get my vehicle. Prompt arrival, very friendly operator and careful around our vehicle while hooking it up. Recommend them for sure. Plus my kid loves the look of their trucks, especially their lifted SUV that's always around town.

Thank you to our driver Glenn specifically & Big Hill in general. For obvious reasons I hope to never have to use your services again… but if I need a tow, I know who to call!!!
