Service pas Bon. Bad service at Marlin Garage. I've been a customer of marlin garage for the past 10 years having my 2cars serviced there, a loyal customer. I’ve had excellent and friendly service at this establishment until today. Last week I went in for my winter maintenance on one of my 2 cars. I needed my brakes checked and repaired, my tires changed, a shock absorber, an oil change and an exhaust leak repaired. The owner “Murray “ was nice enough to lend me a car during the time it took to be repaired. I very much appreciated the kind gesture on his part. I was called to come get my car a couple of days later. I paid the bill and took possession of my vehicle. Immediately after starting the car I noticed that the exhaust leak had not been fixed. They took back the car and said they would fix the problem. When I asked why it wasn’t fixed correctly The mechanic said he did a patch job to try and save me money rather than calling me with an estimate to fix the problem correctly. He didn’t call to give me an estimate on the repairs being done on my car he just did what he wanted. He suggested that if the exhaust leak bothers me I could crack open my window to avoid being poisoned by the carbon monoxide in the passenger compartment. That’s just wrong. Then he said I need a new exhaust manifold it would cost around 300$. I said ok. In the end it wasn’t a problem with the exhaust manifold he replaced gaskets and replaced a part never calling to inform me. He did everything except to find and fix the problem. The car was back in service and I continued to use the courtesy vehicle. Trusting that they would find and fix the exhaust leak. I didn’t know at this point that the brakes were still faulty as I hadn’t yet driven the car. When I took possession of my car 8 days later with a bill that I paid for almost 600$ I noticed that my brakes were still bad and that AGAIN I still had an exhaust leak. I received the car back on a Friday. I immediately noticed that there was still an exhaust leak. It was Friday at closing so I knew nothing could be done that evening. When I took it back the following Monday I was told that the exhaust would need additional $$$ repairs that my problem was fixed correctly and that it's because the car is old. Not their fault. Also the owner said my brakes were never on the work order even though the receipt clearly states that I paid to have my brakes inspected and they found nothing wrong. The brakes are soft and the back wheels lock when the brake pedal is pressed down to come to a quick stop. The brakes where not inspected properly or not at all. Though I paid for an inspection. My car isn't safe or legal to drive after having spent a lot of money and having to wait 8 days for my car to be returned in similar need for repair as when I brought it in to be serviced. This business has gone downhill I recommend that you have your car repaired somewhere else.

I was treated with courtesy and respect, they did what I asked for in a timely manner, the price was fair and I left satisfied.
