E	Emily McClelland on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant is great! I've never had Uzbek food before, so had no idea of what to expect. Begim is a family-run restaurant, and you can really tell from the way you are treated from the moment you walk through the door! Everyone was so sweet and friendly, and answered all of our questions about Uzbek food, as well as explained certain things to us about Uzbek culture! When the food came, it was all delicious, and presented beautifully on the plate, while also arriving not very long after we ordered. Our waitress mentioned that everything is handmade in the restaurant. Overall, we had a great experience at Begim, and would highly recommend checking it out. Everything we had was delicious, and the service was fantastic.
A	Arshad Islam on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Marvelous meal - ordered traditional rice with garlic bulb & meat, which was tender & juicy. Dumplings soup was itself a full meal, nicely cooked & served with herbs. Tried Liver skewer - phenomenally tasty, it was tender, juicy & crispy - cooked with with chunks of fat. Also tried chicken kebab - grilled with layer of fat, which makes it super tasty & crispy. End the meal with traditional green tea. Highly recommended & try a bit of these & u wouldn't be disappointed.

Not because the Food is bad, I just didn't think it was anything special. And it's pretty expensive for what it is. All it was $46 for tax and tip for two people with no drinks. We got two dishes and one samosa.

This was rather a different experience for the taste and the ambience inside is very cultura and cozy! Also the portions are huge so you won't feel empty at all!

Really sincere Uzbek food. They make everything from scratch. We had the manti and the Uzbek pilav to go. Tasted really good even after 5hrs on the road. We heard they will be expanding the menu soon, really looking forward to the new additions. All the best!

I tried a bunch of different dishes like the liver kabob which was excellent cooked perfectly and had pickled onions with it. The pumpkin somsa were tasty as well and my wife's favorite thing here. The tok-osh was my favorite item it's ground pork marinated in spices and wrapped in grape leaves were delicious.

However, I was pleasantly surprised with the great variety of food, interesting discussions with the owner and relatively good prices. The place is a smaller venue off 17th. We tried many of the dishes and I would recommend letting them prepare it in the manner they would eat it. We found we enjoyed all the dishes. The only dish that seemed mediocre was thus one dish where there was like 36 dumplings but it was much better after the owner recommended some of the vinegar. Overall I’m looking forward to the next opportunity to go again!
C	Chong Xia on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything at Begin tastes excellent. The samsas are very flakey on the outside and flavourful on the inside. Probably the best lamb skewers I had in Calgary, with very generous portions. The rice and dumplings are also very good, it looks oily but not heavy.
