A really nice trail. Not too challenging, but a nice hike. This trail can have a few wet spots, so be prepared to encounter a little bit of mud. There are also a couple of very short climbs up rocks. Bring your swim attire and go for a swim at the end.

Nice in and out trail with Canadian shield scenery. It ends at a peninsula on Bear Lake, where you can hang out and have a picnic. There are a couple of inclines that are steep enough that ropes have been installed. Some may have difficulties on these parts.

Did this trail January 2nd. The end of the trail has a good picnic and fire pit spot on a little peninsula. The decent down to the lake is pretty steep and has a couple ropes to help people down if they need. Not my favorite trail in the whiteshell but still good. Good for families as this trail is not too difficult.

Great trail! Has some really wet parts where the boardwalk is out. Watch your step or you will end up in waist deep water. Chill area at the end to have a fire and swim.

A fairly easy hike. It is typically very wet after you cross the railway tracks. Come prepared to get wet feet. The water can be knee deep in places but not terribly difficult to navigate. Seasonal variations in water levels and recent rain will change the water level you experience. The climb down the rocks and climb up the other side, to reach the end of the trail, at Bear Lake, is straight forward but may prove a bit of a challenge to some.

This is a rustic trail that isn't used too often, but that is the way I like them. The first part of the trail is through tall grasses and marsh. It will be quite wet and require a lot of balancing on old logs. I ended up getting my foot completely wet when I thought I was stepping on a firm log but just ended up going straight down into the marsh. It is overgrown in a lot of areas so wear long pants if you don't want the bushes scratching you. After the initial wet and muddy section through the bushes you'll end up on higher ground hiking over the shield. At the end there is a small climb down a rock and then a climb back up the next one, but there were ropes to help. This will get you to the little picnic area on black lake. We ate our lunch here and went for a swim before heading back.

It was still fun even though beginning of trail was floaded from beaver ? dames. Ankle deep people. Need to build a new bridge
