Beacon Hill Family Practice (BHFP)

I brought my 4 year old daughter in for a possible bladder infection on a Wednesday morning. The one receptionist was very helpful and caring. I was told her urine sample would be tested at the lab and they would call with the results. The Dr gave me a script for antibiotics to start taking if we felt necessary until the results came in. If it was positive then continue taking for one week and if negative then to stop taking the antibiotics. I called the clinic on Thursday at 4pm since I hadn't heard back. The nice receptionist said the results were not in yet and to call back Friday morning. She said a different receptionist would be in and would tell me the results. I called back Friday at 1pm and spoke with the other receptionist, Melony. She refused to give me the results and said that I would have to come in for a "follow up visit" (so that they could bill and get paid). She said that my daughter didn't even need to be there for the visit (which indicates no further testing would need to be done). I explained to her that I just needed to know if she was to take the antibiotics or not and that it was not possible for me to come in. They were closing at 5pm and I was at work with my own patients. If they knew they wouldn't provide any results over the phone they should be letting patients know ahead of time to book a follow up and not tell them that they will call with the results (If I hadn't called them to find out who knows when they would have called me). We use to go to Orchid Medical in town but it's no longer a walk in clinic. They were fabulous! They would call to check in on my daughter and always gave any results over the phone. My family doctor growing up would make his calls at 9pm on his own time to give his patients their results!! I guess some doctors today are not what they use to be. This doctor didn't even bother to talk with me over the phone to explain why we had no choice but to come in. He is clearly more concerned about money than his patients. It's too bad because we would have gone back and he would make money from future visits. Now we will be going elsewhere! I certainly will not be referring any of my patients there.

Went to the walk in clinic with my 3 children one of them being ill with ear pain and when I got there they said I had to leave my 5 and 1 year old in the waiting room only the ill patient and parent can go in. This is unacceptable and completing shocking to even ask me to leave my children unattended. I have no one to help me watch my children is why I had to take them all. It’s crazy to think this would even be an issue Covid or not rooms should be disinfected anyway between patients

Dr is always an hour late for scheduled appointments & then when you finally get to see him, he doesn’t take concerns seriously & is insensitive - very frustrating. The receptionists “don’t use email” so if you need anything from them, you have to go in and get a printed hand-out - which also takes an hour. Don’t recommend.

Worst Family Practice in Stouffville. I took my 3 year old son for check-up, got there at 6:30 (clinic closes at 7) and it was empty. The receptionist told us that clinic is closing soon, doctor is busy so come back tomorrow. There was no one there and still they didnt the patient. They should take back doctors license and close down this Clinic. This is beyond worse experience

EDIT: June 2022 update. Front desk staff service is awful since the pandemic started. Online booking is nice but doesn't work well. Been unable to reach them by phone to reschedule an appointment. Need to get better administration help... Dr. Igbinovia and his staff have been helpful. Much better clinic experience than my previous experiences.

Wouldn’t take my kids in the am bc their health cards were expired (one was expired a month ago) Went and got health cards renewed and came back and she wouldn’t let me in to get my kids ears checked So unprofessional - literally said to me no where takes walk ins when earlier in the morning they would have taken us It was not even 1:30 when I went in the second time so not close to closing time at all. Do not waste your time esp if you have children

I am very pleased with this family practice. I have visited Dr. Igbinovia on multiple occasions since changing family doctors and he has been very timely, courteous and helpful. My wife and daughters both see Dr. Joy. She is great with kids. I love the fact that they have an in house LifeLabs facility and their administration team is friendly.

I have been going to this doctor for a few years. They have seen my child since they were 4 days old. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with everyone in this office from the receptionist to the doctors. Both doctors have given us vaccines and have shown nothing but skill and professionalism. They keep everything clean, disinfected and safe. It is very unfortunate to see all the negative reviews on this practice because I don't believe they are accurate. They appear to all be from frustrated walk-in patients and I can tell you from own experience as a walk-in that NO walk-in patient will ever be satisfied with their service. Compared to other offices and clinics the wait time here is a dream. I highly recommend this office! Thank you Beacon Hill for all your hard work and service!
