However, buying a used car is always risky and you have to do your homework beforehand. Some cars are known to be problematic or have certain maintenance requirements above a certain number of miles. How the previous owner(s) maintained and treated the vehicle is also an important factor to take into account. We went for a model that didn't have any major problems in later years, had a clean carfax, and got an inspection done by a mechanic.
