It's a cosy and comfortable apartment for Western students to stay. Total 10 floors I guess (It has from 1 lower to 5 upper). The manager Margi is really warm and friendly. It has a laundry room between second and third floor and an outdoor parking lot for residents. It takes 5~10min to go to bus station. By the way, pictures of the place here are not related to real Bayfield Hall. Try the street view if you want to check out this building.

For a student, the convenience of living here is great. It's quiet, all utilities are covered in the cost and it's close to campus. However, the maintenance has gotten incredibly sloppy. The walls, stairs and hallways are always covered in dirt and stains, and there is grime throughout the entire building. I can't speak for all the units, but with mine they waxed the floor before move in and there was wax, dirt, and even food mixed into the wax. It left dirt, clumps of hair and even pieces of food spread throughout the entire apartment in and under the wax. I'm a reasonably clean person, but it was incredibly uncomfortable. There was also very visible grime throughout the unit and paint smeared over the door knobs and trimming. I understand the building has a lot of turnover, but I feel like they take advantage of the fact only students stay here short term and they don't have trouble filling the units in terms of the living conditions provided. I would never have moved in if I had known the condition of my unit (you don't get to see or choose the particular unit beforehand), and for this reason I wouldn't recommend it to others.

Lived here for 2 years, had to transfer to another apartment within Bayfield because they converting the South Wing into rez. Let's start with the good stuff: - competitive rates, $1138 per month is really cheap for a 1 bed in london - convenient location, within walking distance to campus - friendly, nice and helpful rental office people. if u have any issues, just email them. Now the bad stuff: - stuff in the kitchen always breaks down. my fridge had to be repaired twice. - despite what everyone says, the building is not always quiet. this is especially true during the summer months. my new neighbour likes to yell at 3am. - dirty floors when moving in - laundry not included in rent, must pay out of your own pocket! - NO AIR CONDITIONING, super hot in the summer. i'd suggest installing a window a/c but ya better not damage the windows - pets should be banned. my neighbour has a fairly large dog that barks almost 24/7 and nobody can do anything about it. not to mention i have allergies Overall, pretty shiit place to live but not that bad either. I can't wait to move out.
