First off the host was lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The site was smaller than provincial parks, and not much privacy between sites but you can make it work. There was a bit of garbage on our site when we arrived and the bathrooms reminded me of summer camp.

I drove past this place every time I tried to find it haha, it’s not very well marked and there isn’t a sign telling you to turn. The campground is small, they don’t have a proper check in so finding the check in was slightly more challenging than it needed to be. The site was decent, some trees but right in the middle of everyone- literally- they have showers and running toilets so that was nice. Overall it was a just fine place to crash for one night. Don’t think I’d do more than that though.

Based on previous reviews, I figured that I completely lucked out when I found this campsite for me and my friends. But I was honestly shocked upon getting to the campsite - that we had booked over two months in advance mind you - because our campsite looked nothing like the picture attached to it on the website. There was absolutely no privacy between campsites, and the campsites themselves were ridiculously tiny. Whenever I talked to the presumed owners of the campground; there was always an excuse or reason as to why the campsites were so small and why they didn’t match the pictures online… but I didn’t take a genius to figure out that each excuse felt like it was just being made up on the spot. We were told that the entire campground was booked up for the weekend which is why we couldn’t switch campsites for something further away and private (as our campground was directly next-door to people already settled... and we were hoping for a more private area) but for the five days we were there not a single night was entirely booked. Not to mention that the spot directly next to ours was not filled for a minute during our stay. I’m willing to admit that the nature of this campground is probably better suited for people camping with large groups or large families over the extension of multiple campgrounds... but it’s honestly probably worth looking for something with more reviews, better reviews, and even some thing more expensive. Technically, you get what you pay for which is why I’m giving it two stars instead of one; as well as The fact that I’m grateful that the people that we were neighbours with were friendly and didn’t mind us being a little loud sometimes. Overall I was relatively upset with this camping experience, and it started with the campsite itself. My apologies to the owners; besides the excuses that you kept providing us, you seemed like nice people. I just beg of you to put more honest pictures on your website so people at least know what they’re getting into. Cheers!

Beautiful spot along the river. Power, free drinking water, free showers, reasonable rates and a super friendly campground host. This campground was easy to get into and out of even with a fifth wheel. If I was in the area, I would definitely stay here again.

We just got home from a 3 day stay at Badlands Campground. We loved it, but it may not be for everyone. This is a very small campground, and we were in site 19 which I would say is the best site. I would only stay in 19 or 18, as they are the most private, deep and well treed spots. We were able to fit 2 large tents, a propane firepit, the large wooden picnic table and 2 small vehicles easily in this site. 19 is the last site in the row, so our only neighbor was #18, and there is a nice hedge of trees and undergrowth to provide privacy. The reason for 4 stars is that the rest of the site are all quite open and I would not stay in any of them, as you are really close to any neighbors. Sites 19 and 18 shared a power post, which was fine but required us to have an extra long cord (think 20+ feet) to reach. The bathrooms are very basic camp bathrooms with free showers and flush toilets. They were always very clean, but are rough bathrooms which may not be to everyone's liking. There was a communal potable water hose to fill your dishes or handwash bucket as well. This was everything we like in a campground! It got really dark at night, as you are really in the middle of nowhere. The location is also right on the banks of the river running through Drumheller, which was a nice little place to wander and look for minnows or crawfish with the kids. The river was quite shallow this year and we were able to walk all the way out to the middle and it was only about chest height. We saw quite a few parties of people 'floating' the river, it seems that you can jump in at the nearby old train bridge and float all the way to town. We would definitely go back, but only if we could stay in #19 again. The host, Anna, was lovely to deal with - quick to respond to emails and lovely to chat with at the campground!

No level sites, power boxes are so far away you need the biggest extension power cord. I quickly checked the 4.4 stars reviews on google before booking. Just don't book here go somewhere else I wouldn't call this place a camping really bad experience

Our experience at the Badlands Campground was excellent. It was quiet with lots of large cottonwoods and a nice hiking trail to the town of Nacmine (which has a small convenience store :-) The sites are not huge, but ours was exactly as pictured, and everyone was generally quiet. There is a basic washroom and showers, and the electricity was adequate (even though our neighbours ran their AC despite it being strongly discouraged as it is only a 15 amp service). Yes, there is no playground but we saw half a dozen young kids having a great time biking on the roads, playing in the field, running around and just having a fun time. The campground host, Anna, was friendly and the washrooms and everything was neat and clean. We were there four nights and would strongly recommend it. It was exactly what we were looking for. The campground was what we were expecting it to be - not what another campground might be. We suggest that you read what it has and what it doesn't have, then decide if this is the place for you.

Not bad. Power was a bit of a "included with purchase" (may not work or may get overloaded with a fridge and water heater..) but. You are camping, plan accordingly. Sites were pretty reasonably sized and the website has good descriptions of each so you know what you're getting. Lots of open area to play/ride bikes. Quiet time wasn't really enforced but for the most part people were considerate. Would probably come back but there is quite a bit of camping in the area.
