I have a english bulldog and he was struggling with a ear infection for more than 1 year and his regular vet (Burnaby Veterinary Hospital) was not capable to treat after spending more than $1500 on drugs and appointments. My dog improved after the first appointment with Dr Michael. He is a very experienced vet, explains everything to you with details, has the best price over the other dermatology clinics around Vancouver and his staff (Jess and Soomin) are adorable.

My Dog Cooper was better in no time! The staff are friendly and very helpful. However, I am changing to 2 star because when I called to get a copy of the prescription that I had paid for, I was told that they don’t have a prescription note as such!? I called other vets and they said they do give prescriptions upon request.

We took our American Bully Jake here when he was experiencing a serious skin condition and were not sure of the cause. He was itchy, had red spots all over his body and small spots of missing fur and it was all getting worse. The staff and veterinarian here were really great. The vet took the time to do a thorough diagnosis and recommended a treatment plan that proved effective. It turned out that Jake had a staph infection that was likely the result of food allergies. He was prescribed antibiotics and put on an elimination diet which completely resolved the condition in a matter of weeks. He is now fully recovered and doing better than ever. A big thank you to the staff and veterinarian here. If you are having issues with a skin condition with your pet I would highly recommend you check out this clinic.

We visited this Dr today after travelling from Vancouver Island for the appointment. It was nice we did not have to wait long to get in to see them, however after the appointment my partner and I both realized why there is not a long wait list for this clinic. Upon arrival we both thought the receptionist/technical assistant we’re very helpful and professional. Once the Dr entered the situation our experience quickly changed direction. I had spoken with the team here multiple times and told them we were travelling for this appointment , asked whether or not they would be doing specific allergy tests such as inter-dermal skin testing, and was told yes, no such test were preformed. Instead, we sat there for 1.5 hours while the Dr. rambled on almost incoherently about allergies… great, I’m glad we all know why we are here ?…. It was so bad at first I thought he might be intoxicated. He would constantly speak over us if we interjected with a note/comment or question about what he was saying and how it may relate to an experience we are having with our own dogs health. If I wanted to watch an allergy webinar, I’d hit YouTube. At one point, after telling the Dr. twice about medication our dog was taking, he began to explain this medication to us later, like he had no idea we had already brought the subject to his attention, responding with β€œoh he’s taking this already? Ok great” … I’m sorry what? Where have you been the last 20 minutes Dr??? The entire experience felt like we were sitting down for a time share sales pitch or info session lecture… trying to fill 1.5 hours of our time as if he was billing by the minute, repeating the same information over and over again… after all was said and done, we left with ZERO new information and a couple prescriptions and advice our home vet could have easily provided us with. I suppose that why there’s no real waitlist here, please do yourself a favour and go to a real allergy clinic/dermatologist. Also, the place was not clean, his outfit was in shambles and it looked as if he pulled that white Dr’s coat out of the Salvation Army bin or perhaps, it was last years Halloween costume. Good luck.

Thanks for helping Stone with his allergies! Goat, fava bean & quinoa are good! Itching has stopped & his eyes are no longer red. Turns out he was allergic to oatmeal as well! Attending an appointment is fun for a Chemistry teacher - hypothesis, controlled experiments etc! No environmental allergies - great news.

The Doctor provided me with lots of very valuable information in regards to dog allergies but nothing in regards to my actual dog himself. I was greeted with super friendly staff and what seemed to be a very empathetic and caring doctor. I was wrong. The consultation was supposed to take approximately an hour to an hour and a half however I was in and out within 35-40 minutes. I did not pay a tremendous amount of money for a doctor to tell me things that I already knew and speak over me the entire time. Whenever I had questions,(which was quite frequent) he would often either dismiss them or repeat himself over and over. My dog has been suffering from allergies for the last 4 years and I was been to so many veterinarians about his condition. Reading all of these reviews had me excited and hopeful to see this dr and finally have my dogs condition addressed. But honestly, It was a waste of my time and the medication given to my dog did absolutely nothing to clear his yeast infection. I went by the drs suggestions for over a month and to be quite honest, I think my dogs allergies got worse. All in all, I think the doctor is very knowledgeable and can help you if you sit there and nod your head the entire time without asking any questions. Also be prepared for him to speak very fast and just throw information at you without giving you anytime to process anything. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the staff is very friendly, the clinic is nice and clean, plus I spoke with a different client that seemed to be having some success with this dr. I work in the veterinary field and I have also heard some mixed things about this clinic but hey, you don't need a referral to get in nor do you have to wait very long. I got an appt within the month so if you're in a rush then this is the place for you!

We brought our dog who had severe inflammation of her paws to Dr. Charach after the previous option offered to us was only invasive surgery. A well thought out regime of topical creams solved the issue. He also had some helpful tips about dietary adjustments that we have implemented for reducing other inflammatory skin issues and used recently during a UTI when she would not eat. I found the rates reasonable for a specialist. I would highly recommend this clinic.

I was a bit leery at first due to having some bad experiences with three veterinarian hospitals in this area but to my delight Dr. Charach proved that there are still some honest professionals out here. I was expecting to have our dog subjected to all kinds of blood tests or other cash grab procedures; instead, Dr. Charach outlined a very logical process where only necessary procedures were done and that other procedures would only be necessary pending the outcome of what was prescribed. This is so refreshing compared to the vets in this area where they do a shot gun approach and get you to do all kinds of tests before they give your pet all kinds of treatments. The staff is very friendly and the premises are also very clean. We will definitely be recommending them to our family and friends!
