I am from out of town and visit this hidden gem every time I come to Calgary! Fantastic food! Great service! And such a beautiful interior! And such a fantastic view of the Bow River. Big thank you to Angel's for providing the perfect venue for our small mini-family reunion for 10 people and for providing the delicious and beautiful platters of food. Varied sandwich tray, veggie tray, fruit tray and a dessert tray. All was very well received and very delicious! The fruit and veggies were so very fresh! We arrived and our reserved tables were beautifully set up and our food was waiting for us. We had our wonderful reunion luncheon inside and then went out to the beautiful patio to continue our visit. Lovely day!

Although the view is wonderful I ordered a plate of nachos for 2 adults. This was the smallest plate of nachos I have ever been served. They are $15 plus a dollar each for salsa and sour cream. I am so disappointed because it’s a beautiful place to stop after a walk. The manager stated that this is what it costs for her to make a plate of nachos and that they price everything out. They were barely a while layer. Hardly anything with a small amount of meat. I didn’t appreciate her pitiful attempt at justifying the exorbitant price on these. I would like to try going back but the food was not worth it. I could make a $10 plate of nachos at home and it would be out of this world. The manager was not open to feedback and was unapologetic about this.

Absolutely my top favorite cafe ever. It just top the charts with it's atmosphere and food. The staff was fast, friendly and exceptional. There was not even one thing I would want to change about this place.

Last weekend I was helping run a big event in the park for a non profit I work for next to Angels Cafe, which brought them quite a few patrons for their business that specific day. During set up I went and grabbed a turkey sandwich and a side soup. It took 35 minutes to get the food, To my surprise when I went to open the soup there was only about an ounce of soup in the b and they automatically added a tip without telling me so I thought they overcharged, I honestly would have tipped even more before I knew this was alll going to happen but they should at least tell you before they charge you.owl, and I went to eat the sandwich and there was a turkey bone in it. After the event I took the food back and the owner came to talk to me, I explained the situation and she said that’s all the soup they give, and that the bone wasn’t their problem it was the manufacturers problem. She then proceeded to tell me that I do not support local businesses (because of me bringing back the food) in a very angry manner, multiple times, after I literally had just helped bring her multiple customers. She told me that someone else would issue the refund and then walked away in a huff. I barely got two words in, and was extremely offended by the accusation considering I work in a charity that does A LOT for Calgary. I was blown away that the OWNER would say these things. I will never be going back there, which is sad, because I typically only eat at locally owned establishments. There could have even been room for us to potentially do an event there, but after that display I will not be.

Cozy cafΓ©. Love the patio! Beautiful scenery! Friendly staff. I really enjoyed the soup! While we sat on the patio, the CafΓ© has board games. The relaxing environment makes for a great place to spend an afternoon or evening playing games and having a meal or snack. While, as a wheelchair user I'm glad there is a ramp, unfortunately I did not see it readily coming from the parking lot - it is further back from the parking lot next to the river pathway. It would be helpful to have a sign by the parking lot pointing to the ramp and it would be helpful if the first two parking spots would be marked as accessible parking. The only marked accessible spots are by the access to the river pathway at the other end of the parking lot. Those are good for the walkway but additional spots by the door would be helpful. I was able to use the stairs and walk in with my cane because I got a parking spot near the door.

Angel's CafΓ© is an amazing place with lots of room inside and a patio with several patio heaters outside. The service was prompt and very courteous with a great selection on the menu such as drinks, baked goods, frozen treats, ice creams, as well as fresh cooked food and meals. It was nice they had menus near the door which you could look at before getting up to order which keeps the line-up moving. Every time I've been there it has been a bustle of people coming and going and always some friendly stranger there to have a chat with and network. My favourite has always been the spicy chicken sandwich loaded with lots of fresh shredded cheese, cucumbers and lettuce with a choice of two different sauces. It is great for when I have to keep driving and don't have time to sit especially when I'm carrying on to Banff for a day hike. The last couple times there I had a bacon cheese burger which was hot and fresh and the bun was soft and fresh also. I was so happy that it wasn't one of those store bought dried out burgers that a lot of burger joints serve. It was actually a great hand made fresh juicy burger! The last time I was there they had a special on chicken wings and I ordered a poutine to go with it. Both of the items were super steaming hot that I had to let cool a bit before eating which I loved! And the wings had the right amount of sauce with a great taste and not too sweet and they mixed my up the hot and bbq sauce just right, and the gravy is that thick rich flavour kind. I've been here many times over the past several years and even though I don't live in Calgary anymore it is my one guaranteed stop on my business trips. And always amazed that no matter how busy the restaurant is that the washrooms and tables are always super clean. Many garbage and recycle bins available for self disposal but rarely get a chance to use as the staff is continually wandering through making sure everyone is happy and tables are clean. Glad that they have been doing their part following the health guidelines, and restrictions and adapting quickly to the ever changing govt. mandates; making an inclusive space for all to feel welcome and safe .

After moving across town 4 years ago to a new β€˜hood after 30 years, I found a new weekend refuge in this wonderful, welcoming little haven of well-prepared food, authentic connection, and fantastic live, collaborative music. Cathy and her dedicated crew have created a well-loved community hub, whether it be supplying seniors and Ronald McDonald House with home-cooked, volunteer-delivered meals, or just a caring ear and that one place where you truly feel included. The magical deck overlooking the river is always my first pick when someone asks me, β€˜Where should we go eat?’ ❀️

Came here to try out their brunch menu. We were here on January 2 but they were closed for the holidays. We called ahead to make sure they were open this time. This is a cozy cafe where you feel like home and can come to hang out with families or friends. They even have board games on the shelves. Too bad their dining room is currently closed. At the front, you can find items for sale made by locals such as baby blankets, etc. It shows the cafe has a big heart in helping other local small businesses. We ordered a smashed avocado marble rye toasts and a breakfast wrap to share. The staff were very friendly and the food was good. They packed our boxes for sharing so we had half of the each item in the boxes. Both the toasts and wrap tasted fresh and filled with flavours. Contrary to a previous review, all their staff followed health protocols. Proud to support a local business with friendly staff. Take care. We will see you again.
