With change in ownership this place has made a turn in the wrong direction. Tv’s have gone up everywhere and it’s starting to feel less like home and more “retail” as if they are only in this for money. The training offered by owners is terrible. Sure if your just getting into it and just want to navigate your way around the gym then it’s fine. But, if you are serious about meeting your goals they are far from qualified. I am seriously considering making a switch to a different gym because the atmosphere has changed dramatically. I hope they take more suggestions from costumers and their amazing staff rather than making changes for the worse.

The owners are warm and helpful. And the others working out are a very welcoming community. We members are adults of all ages, in all shapes and sizes. For me thats the hook. There is nothing intimidating about the place.

And the new owners Jamie and Michelle are the nicest and most easy people to talk to, and are also very very smart and knowledgeable personal trainers, and will help you with anything you need! Highly recommend this place for everyone!
A	Andrew Duong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been an avid gym goer for 6-7 years now and have tried almost every commercial gym within the Ottawa region (Movati, GoodLife, and the now defunct Ottawa Athletic Club) and I must say that this place is a gem. Michele has created something special here. The gym is big enough where it’s not claustrophobic but also small enough where the commute between each machine/ station is efficient. The gym environment is friendly and can range from casual gym goers to competitive lifters yet everyone is kind and respectful to each other. There is more than sufficient weight for any requirements with high quality barbells. The ‘hoist brand’ of machines they carry here offer a linear, smooth, and progressive amount of tension that offers an excellent mind muscle connection. I simply love this facility, a definite must try.

I love the yoga studio the best as it open and has great lighting. I would highly recommend the PT with Michelle is help you reach your goals! Also the new system and website is user friendly and exceptional. 5/5 For a membership or drop-in.

Very good vibes here, staff are so friendly, layout and equipment is exactly what I'm looking for. The highlight for me was the outdoor section, working outdoors is great and I feel like not many gyms have an outdoor setup like AFC.
