★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seems like they had so much steel left after they finished with the project so they decided to put it all on this bridge. Does make it heavy but will come in handy in case they needed to strip off some metarial in future.
Good thing is that there're pedestrian and cycle lanes on both sides so you don't need public transport to explore the downtown and surrounding area. Simply walk across taking in the views. You see so much more when walking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the most spectacular places to see in Ottawa.The best part is that you can walk through the park looking at the stair-stepped canal and take a picture of the Parliament Hill with the frozen Ottawa River. Ottawa in winter is also a great place to visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's best lookout you can find to view the Parliament Hill. You can view both the architectural buildings and Alexander bridge which you can cross by foot to Quebec. It goes without saying that you can enjoy amazing sunsets here. Just sit on one of the benches and let your worries go. Enjoy the moment, its beautiful!
