About Airdrie Midwives
Our midwives work in teams of “primary midwives”, to offer families personalized care, continuity and choices, while maintaining access to the entire team of midwives for back-up and support. Our relationship is one of partnership with the woman, her family and each other.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have chosen Birth Partnership as your caregivers. It is an honor and a privilege to be your midwives and we look forward to a positive birth experience with each and every one of you!
Birth Partnership Midwives would like to acknowledge their original founders and partners, Bobbie Fraser and Arlette Allyjan. Bobbie and Arlette retired after dedicating themselves to midwifery for over 30 years. Both are British trained midwives, who after immigrating to Canada, worked as obstetrical nurses on labour and delivery units. In 1991 both Bobbie and Arlette were part of the Foothills Hospital Nurse Midwifery Program that provided care to over 800 families. They subsequently were part of the first group of midwives to be registered in the province of Alberta.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can’t say enough great things about the Airdrie Midwives. We were nervous at first as this was our third baby but first pregnancy with a midwife. We felt not only well taken care of but incredibly nurtured as well. Even through Covid. We saw Bayli for the majority of our appointments and we absolutely adored her. Her teammate Christia was at home with us while we laboured and she and Julie delivered our son. They were also both amazing and my delivery could not have gone smoother. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend them to anyone thinking of having a baby.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a first time mom, I wanted a midwife team. I live north of Airdrie and was very pleased that the Birth Partnership Midwives exist in Airdrie and offer these services for rural women. Christia and Bayli were my midwife team and I could not have been more pleased. I always felt heard and they took so much time to answer my questions. I appreciate having a team that is always available. This was very different than any experience I have had with traditional doctors, I felt that they actually cared for me and respected the decisions that my husband and I had made in regards to our family. They give you all of the most up to date medical information and allow you to make your own decisions.
When we decide to have more children I will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Airdrie Midwives are a wonderful group of competent, caring, patient and supportive women. I learned so much by having them support me through my pregnancy and the birth of my baby. After learning about the options for giving birth I decided that I wanted to try for a home water birth. I followed the recommendations of the midwives to prepare (this is not something you want to go into unprepared!) and had a very successful and memorable birth experience. Special thanks to Julie who birthed my baby. It was an experience I will never forget and a wonderful way to welcome my son into the world.

They offered choice in birthing that I couldn't get anywhere else with my physicians. I had both hospital and home births with these midwives and all of my experiences were amazing. They listened to me and let me drive my care. They had knowledge none of my physicians did and I love their centering groups for connecting with other mothers. I felt confident and empowered because of their care.

These ladies genuinely care about their clients and it is shown through the love and compassion you experience when in their care, my husband and I both felt supported throughout our journey. Airdrie midwives has a team of wonderful women who will always hold a special place in our hearts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The midwives here are amazing and knowledgeable. I attended during the start of the pandemic, which made for quite a few challenges in receiving prenatal care. Airdrie midwives did amazing considering the restrictions placed on them.
4/5 stars because of the awful bedside manner of one midwife. The rest of them were incredible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decided to go with the midwives for my pregnancy. Never felt rushed at any of the appointments. They were always happy to answer any of our questions. Even when plans changed and we had to deliver at the hospital under the care of an Ob, the midwives were still present to explain our options and to keep us calm.
Will definitely return for the next pregnancy!
