★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stefan is an exceptional shaper and performs great repair work. I’ve taken my dinged boards to him for years and alsways is very reasonably priced. I recently bought my first Aftanas board, great value and super fun in both Tofino and Hawaiian waves. I would highly recommend Stefan for any new board, especially if you plan to surf at all near Tofino.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool local business with great boards for west coast surf. Unfortunately the board repair business model makes zero sense. They tried to charge me double the money (rushed 24hr pricing) for an appointment I was making a week in advance. The way they handled my inquiry about this pricing was horribly rude and surprising considering this is a customer facing service business. I was very disappointed.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unbelievable experience!! Stefan, Kelly, and Patrick are absolute masters of their craft.
I ordered a custom 9'2 stepchild this summer and it turned out perfect. I could not be more impressed with the quality and customer service provided by this stand up team. From the design process to revealing the final product, they kept me involved the whole way through!
I must thank them again for their patience with my indecisiveness as I flipflopped on what colour I wanted at least 5 or so times. By the end, I had to let the man with the experience take the wheel and pinpoint what colour he thought would be best. So I went with Stefan's choice and very glad I did! I will definitely be reaching out to Aftanas again for future boards.
10/10 recommend anyone who is looking to get a custom shape or looking to get their board patched up to go and see these guys!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I always wanted a dream short board from Aftanas for the Great lakes and traveling around. I'd contact my good friend Antonio Lennert from Surf The Greats surf shop in Toronto to get one and got in touch Kelly and Stefen. They're amazing! they'd communicated with me back and forth, getting all the details, making sure the specs are right on for me with the best advise you could get from a shaper, taken his time to make sure this is what I need to have a blast and push my surfing. The One..what a board! super fast, responsive, snappy, paddles fast and loves the most critical part of wave..its definitely insane and the quality is beyond anything I've ever had have before. Thanks guys, much love from the Great lakes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would not recommend taking your boards to Aftanas for Repairs - They left part of my fin box in on one of the repairs & did not notify they only supply fcs2 after seeing pictures of the original finboxes.
Tried to bill me an extra $100 for a rail repair they did not touch either but Fortunately refunded me after inquiring about the repair & billing mishaps - overall was not the best customer experience or repair job.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aftanas makes great boards! Both me and my friend purchased custom boards back in November of 2019 and they are beautiful. We originally stopped into the shop and did the sizing and initial consult with Kelly. Everything else was done online and Aftanas sent regular updates through email and instagram.
It was fun to go through the process and see updates, then have the ability to pick it up right in Tofino. Everything was customized; dimensions, volume, graphics, etc. Mine turned out perfect and I’m really happy with the purchase. Can’t wait to buy another one in the future and see what else they can create!
