I scheduled a hearing test for my 5 year old because she was exhibiting signs of hard of hearing and it was concerning to me and my husband. We read all the FAKE reviews on Advanced Hearing Google page and scheduled an immediate appointment. The RUDE, red-haired, snarky receptionist booked us in a cancelled slot. Therefore, I organized my work schedule and pulled my daughter out of school to attend this appointment. Upon arriving, the door was locked with a will return from lunch at 13:00 hours sign. Moments later a group of ladies were walking down the aisle. At the same time, my daughter coughed ONCE. The rude, red-haired, and snarky receptionist who said to the ladies β€œOh my god, did you hear her cough”. Yes, she was speaking about my daughter, as though she is an adolescent with no sense of professionalism, customer service, representation of the company but most important SENSITIVITY and respect to a 5 year old. The rude, red-haired, snarky receptionist came out with her alarms up and clear signs of elevated anxiety and depression said she was concerned that my daughter had a cold. I calmly responded that she does not and as you can see, she has her school uniform on; therefore, she wouldn’t have attended school if that were the case. In addition, I would never let her leave the house if she had a cold. This ONE cough was a mucus that came up and she then swallowed. I tried to explain to her that she is a child, and it takes children a much longer time to weed out the mucus from their nose and throat because they do not blow their nose as often as adults. In addition, their immune system is still developing, and she had a negative covid test. Furthermore, I stated that she has been cleared by her pediatrician that she doesn’t have a cold, covid or any thing that one could be TERRIFIED of , along with the fact that the private school she attends has VERY STRICT rules pertaining to sick kids. She then proceeded to call on Sierra O'Connell, who is a dispensing Audiologist and Nilton Sousa, the General Manager, who were as rude if not worse with her oblivious nature and understanding with children. It was then that I discovered that Advanced Learning is falsely advertising that they cater to children when in fact their staff have no knowledge on how to prepare parents prior to the appointments and how to exercise sensitivity and regard to the children. I was mainly upset because of how anxious they were over ONE short cough. My daughter had a mask, did not have a fever, no runny nose or watery eyes and no CONSISTENT cough. Furthermore, they did not even attempt to speak with her to reconfirm or GIVE this beautiful 5-year-old a sense of security. Instead, they made her feel as though she was unwanted and dangerous to be nearby. To the point that she was nearly about to cry. After receiving the final NO from Nilton through the phone (Yes that is correct, he was NOT present in person to assess the situation and look at my daughter. Instead, he took the word of pure incompetence), I decided to leave. To add to the unfortunate experience, the red-haired rude receptionist gave me a snarky smirk as though she was happy that we didn’t stay. For a medical establishment, it was by far the FIRST and WORST display of care, respect, professionalism and lacks the concept of customer service. I would NEVER return or recommend this place. Parents RUN AWAY. Don’t traumatize yourself or children. I will be filing a complaint with the Ontario Association of Audiology.

I accompanied my mother to her appointment at Advanced Hearing (next to the CIBC bank). My mother who is nearly 90 years old (high risk) was apprehensive leaving her house for this appointment. We both were very pleased with our experience. The staff were all very nice and did their due diligence screening for COVID.
