Ruggles Janice Dr

For those who are currently patients of Dr. Ruggles or even any future potential patients as a expecting my I would like to advise you NOT to have her as you OB. If you at all care for your safety or the safety or your child I would recommend going with someone else. When I had decided to switch to Dr. Ruggles I was informed of the DICIPLINARY ACTION that was taken against her previously as well as some behavior issues that she's had with some patients in the past. despite all of that I decided to look past it and go with her anyway. At the end of it all I REGRETTED it. She is aggressive, impulsive, has major behavior issues, gets defensive very quickly. Has no problem yelling at her patients and mistreating them even if they address a valid concern. My hope is that anyone reading this will really consider all their options before making a decision. This may be one negative comment but if you do more research you will find more. If she's mistreated patients before, she will continue to do it. DON'T LET HER MISTREAT YOU. YOU AND YOUR BABY DESERVE BETTER.

I have been seeing Dr. Ruggles for about the last 2 years and have had about 5 visits with her. I find her overall pleasant and professional but my visits with her are inconsistent. Sometimes she has time to listen and other times she rushes through and I can't get a word in. Our first consult was thorough and I was then referred out for surgery and it went well. Upon my last PAP with her this year, I only learned my results were abnormal after I received the standard letter from the Ontario government while her receptionist had phoned me to say all was fine. It was only until I phoned back. they said to come back in for a follow up PAP. When I went in for this, I started to tell her about some symptoms I was having and she told me that she didn't have time and that I'd have to go back to my family and get yet another referral because she felt this was a "new" problem and needed a "consult" (which she probably gets paid more for) and this is how the system works. I was perplexed because I felt my symptoms were related and I thought she was my gynecologist which means she should address all things in this area. She also wrote me yet another HPV prescription which I had already had. I left the visit feeling more like a number she could bill OHIP for rather than an actual patient whose problems she could help. This makes me second guess her motives as a doctor.

Dr. Ruggles is an amazing doctor! She is so kind, and caring to her patients. She is so genuine and awesome! She is amazing at her job and really knows her stuff. Her staff is also super kind and understanding. Love it!

She is one obstetrician who is very easy to talk to. My pregnancy was complicated by Rh sensitization that my husband and I were unaware of and she spotted that in our first meeting! She was very understanding and patiently answered every query that we had. She referred us to one of the best MFM specialists in Toronto and followed up with us after every visit with the specialist. Being a doctor myself, I was amazed by the health care she provided to us. She ensures the patient is taken care of completely, sometimes even at the cost of her personal time.

Dr Ruggles is an amazing obgyn. She is a compassionate and caring doctor, who always puts her patients first. She is extremely knowledgeable, and is highly competent. She is not like the other doctors I’ve been to, where they try to rush you out the door and are dismissive. Dr Ruggles takes her time to make sure your needs are met. She is one of the best doctors I’ve ever had, hands down.

Dr,. Ruggles was great with my first pregnancy, my daughter was born December 2009. She was not so great for my second pregnancy, my son born October 2012. Every single appointment during my second pregnancy was cancelled and had to be rescheduled. Sometimes I would get the call for the cancellation after leaving work which was not fair on me or my employer. She wasn't as nice during the second pregnancy either and I felt like I was being rushed. After, I had my son I decided to get the IUD inserted in me. During that visit, my son needed to be breastfed. My husband wanted to come into my room so I could feed him. Dr. Ruggles wouldn't allow it and said you should have gotten a sitter for him. I was breastfeeding and we don't have that option in our family for someone to watch him. Instead my son cried and cried in the waiting room to be fed. Dr. Ruggles wasn't very professional with my husband and told me that he was aggressive with her in the waiting room which wasn't the case. She stomped around the reception area and kicked the printer because she was upset with my husband and the situation of my six week old wanting to be fed. After a year of having the IUD put in me I had major pains and had to be rushed to the hospital twice. I had my period for seven weeks straight at times. I ended up having to get the IUD out. I believe that Dr. Ruggles didn't insert it properly because she was so upset with the situation between her and my husband in the waiting room. She delivers babies and shouldn't have a problem with six week old needing to be fed. She was not professional during my second pregnancy. If I were to have a third child my choice would have been to go to a midwife. I went back to Dr. Ruggles the second time because my first time was amazing with her.

I was very lucky to have Dr. Ruggles as my OB during my first pregnancy. I had a few complications and was considered high risk, but Dr. Ruggles never failed to answer questions or put my mind at ease. I found her care was much better than my high risk doctors at Mt.Sinai. She is a great listener and actually takes time with her patients. She wasn't able to deliver my baby unfortunately (due to a fast, early labor) but she was there immediately afterwards, and each time I was admitted to the hospital during my pregnancy. Dr. Ruggles is knowledgeable, kind and just an all around amazing doctor and person.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Ruggles and her staff (Anna and her husband Jim were always very friendly and professional towards me) during my pregnancy with my son. I had some pregnancy complications and Dr. Ruggles took every precaution to make sure I carried the baby to term. There was even an instance when I went to emergency and she came by the hospital to check in on me and ensure that myself and the baby were okay. She was great in explaining test results, recommended plan of action, and during the delivery of my son she was very comforting and gave good direction to everyone around her (myself included!). In my experience, I felt that she and her staff really cared and I would definitely have her as my doctor again if I have another child.
