A & S Homes

It’s been almost 5 years since we have been in our A & S home! There are many home builders that offer to build your dream home but working with Adam and Mark were not only professional but made it worthwhile! It’s a big investment and your builder and realtor are extremely important on how they work together. The friendship we built even with the building foreman were incredible and the friendships last well after the money has been paid! The quality is excellent with no issues at all and would recommend Mark as well as A & S homes over any realtors and builders out there. So much so I know we will use them both once again as we downsize to our final home a small bungalow that will be built with the same A & S quality our current two story home is.

Reported issue about temperature in the brand new house. Been few months no resolution in place. Very disappointing. Update: FOUND OUT THERE WAS NO INSULATION IN THE ATTIC! Very frustrating! Now our ceiling has water damage!

It's a great builder. I have seen great improvements with this builder over the years especiallywith their customer service. They have homes the fits into many budget without compromising on quality.

We signed with A&S as first-time homebuyers in July 2020 with a promised possession date of June 30, 2021, construction was supposed to start in September 2020. After following up several times without any progress we finally managed to get a response through our realtor stating that construction was delayed due to Covid and the new start date was December 2020 which again was delayed due to permit approval. Again, after months passing without any progress, we received a welcoming letter on March 11th, 2021, 9 months after we signed. On April 5th we got contacted by the windows and doors supplier confirming that they had just received our blueprints and they wanted to place the order as soon as possible to avoid delays, kudos to those contractors! It was the most detailed explanation that we’ve gotten related to the building process of our house. Due to the lack of commitment from A&S we had to renew our apartment lease for another year as the possession date was moved to September 1st, after several emails and calling our realtor, the last week of August and during the month of September we were contacted on several occasions about the upgrades we selected during our design center meeting back in April rushing us to review and approve stating that they wanted to avoid delays. On December 6th we got a communication from our lawyer that the possession date was moved again to April 24th, 2022 which is the sixth time the possession date has been pushed and nearing a 2 years wait for the home to be built and delivered. I have tried to call A&S several times to get in touch with the project manager to follow up about the delays in the house without success. I have left several messages and no callback. We feel disrespected, neglected and that we don’t matter as customers, it has been the worst experience in our life. We’ve been tracking the progress of the other A&S homes on the same street and all the houses that started after ours are currently in a more advanced stage. I’m sorry to say this but, if I would have known I would have never signed a deal with A&S. Do not buy from this builder as their customer service is non-existent. They killed my family’s Christmas dream and the illusion to receive relatives over to spend the holidays together in a new home, they ruined our first-time home buyer experience, our love towards our new home, and I feel very dissapointed about all this.

I have to give it to the after sales customer contact team. Jenna with A&S has been an absolute delight to work and communicate with. She coordinated with the dry wallers in a timely manner to fix the cracks that appeared in the drywall 1 year after possession and was covered by the warranty.

Our experience with trusting A & S to construct our home has been horrendous!!! I am surprised they have any five star google review at all. It feels like they are either extremely unfair to some home buyers and great to some or the very good reviews are fake. The experience of constructing our home with A & S is the worst experience any home buyer can go through! It destabilizes you and ruins important plans in your life that is connected to moving to a Home. And since the construction contract allows them to change the date, they exploit that provision on the agreement. They have changed our possession date Five (5) times with the excuse of "Covid shortage of materials and Labour" since we signed up for the construction in November 2020. The most recent date they gave us for possession is June 30, 2022, which is still tentative. It appears they just change the date whenever the last date is getting closer without working on the house or making progress in the construction. We have seen other builders deliver homes people signed up for in 2020 and 2021 (months after we signed up with A & S) under the same covid shortages with only reasonable additional time added to the original possession dates. We have seen progress of other houses on the same street that started several months after ours delivered, and some made way-more progress than A& S has on our home. A & S has ruined our first-time home buyers experience. They don’t care about customers. They are not committed to delivery of a house once you sign up with them. This experience is horrible. PLEASE DO NOT CONSTRUCT OR BUY WITH THIS BUILDER! Save yourself the heartache. They'll ruin your plans!

I would highly recommend building a home with these guys! From start to finish the service was top notch. Adam, the sales agent, helped me select the right home and caught all sorts of things that I wouldn't have even thought of to make sure I made all the right choices pertaining to my specific needs. For example, I specified that I would like to make a basement rental suite, so he ensured that I picked a home with a basement entrance separate from the main entrance so that I would be separate from my tenants. I built in the heat of Covid-19 so there was of course some delays, but when they gave me that final possession date they really pushed to make it happen and when I got possession I didn't feel that it was rushed as everything was finished with high quality. An example of them making the possession day happen is when my shower door got delayed due to covid, instead of pushing the date back they put a door on for me to use for the time being so I could still enjoy my house while waiting for the right door. When it came time for a final walkthrough, Alanna was great. As we went through the house I was quite thorough looking for deficiencies as the quality was quite high but being an inspector myself I was able to notice certain small things. I was given absolutely no push back on any little things I asked to be fixed and they even fixed a few dings and dents that I caused during my move with no hassle. Building my home with A&S was a pleasure and I have already recommended them to my friends and will continue to do so. I look forward to building my next house with them.

Please let me know if there is any other rating below 1star. This is our story with A&S. We signed August 2020. and possession has been moved more than 6 time to date in January 2022,, the pictures below indicated empty plot beside our home and now its been delivered. From December 2020, our house cannot boast of finished drywall. James promised garage door to be installed by mid-May and now we just got a news that it will be finished in July I did a review last month and James pleased that our house will be delivered in June. Other A&S Homes are been built and i shared picture with Crystal from Production Team Other people given 5star rating shows A&S is bias, RACIAL, WICKED, and i doubt if its true. We have previously sent our summer travel itinerary for the month of June to James, coupled with our current landlord notice March, 2022. and to add to this A&S Homes sent an email promising July 2022, In my last review i mentioned how unprofessional this is, other builders are working round the clock and even sometimes weekends just to make clients happy, Its so sad A&S is hiding under Covid-19, supply chain and labor shortage but its not just A&S in the market. A&S in my former review is a disappointment and now I will advise new clients to RUN FOR THEIR DEAR LIVES. Imagine what we have to go through with our daily lives being altered, our daily living unbearable, children schools affected. SHAME ON A&S HOMES, SHAME ON STAFF AND MANAGEMENT, SHAME ON ANYTHING THAT BEARS A&S. There will be more review coming up and until this is resolved by not just words but action then I will not stop writing.
