Although the men that came were very nice, there were a few issues. Shoes from outside were worn when walking over carpets, corner banged on dresser leading repair. Plastic left on furniture so I needed to take it off and dispose of it. Worker ate lunch on my time. Cost me $800, same move, less distance cost me $570, with a different company a year ago. $50 in gas although it was a 15 min drive.

I moved from Calgary to Victoria with 2 Burley Men (2BM) in July/Aug 2021. I might use them again in the future. Here was my experience, organized by pros and cons. Summary at the end. Pro: I originally planned to rent a U-Haul, and 2BM accommodated my move on relatively short notice (a few weeks). Con: I asked the sales rep for an email confirmation with my details, and they said they were too busy (for a couple lines of text, really?). Con: On the day they were supposed to grab our things, they no-show'd. I had to call them! This was a problem for me because we booked a hotel for the next day halfway to our destination, and I had to move the hotel dates. Here is what happened: the movers that were supposed to get us had a full truck. The sales rep overbooked them! Pro: 2BM sent two moving teams (4 men instead of 2) to load up our things faster to help rectify the mistake. Pro/Con: This is a tough one. The sales rep GROSSLY underestimated the weight of our 1brm apartment; however, the moving team could tell instantly that the sales rep grossly underestimated the weight. They were friendly, professional, and honest. They thought it would be double the estimate and they were right (I have a lot of heavy books - I don't think it was a scam). I attribute the underestimate to the inattentiveness and impatience of the sales team. Pro: The moving team was highly communicative during the move. We had to arrange catching a ferry over a long weekend, and we were delayed on the journey. We texted throughout and their communication relieved a lot of stress. Pro: Their insurance covered large items that they wrapped up (mattress/TVs, etc.) if they broke, and nothing broke! Con: Lost box(es): There was at least one box that was lost, which is strange because the movers (again, being fantastic) had us look at the truck before they left to make sure nothing was missing. The missing box had my popcorn machine and some cat toys, so I didn't notice until weeks later. Not a big deal. If it was something important, and I called them, I think they would have helped me figure it out. Overall, I would rate the sales team a 2/5 and the moving team a 4/5. The sales team seemed out of touch, I got the vibe that they thought they were better than the movers, and they were the source of most of my cons above. The moving team wasn't perfect, but they were nice folks doing a great job. I would recommend 2BM with the caveat that you need to advocate for yourself - if they make claims they don't keep (and don't seem to want to keep email trails for), you need to firmly (and kindly, please!) ask that they keep them. Remember, to reiterate, that a moving company is a challenging business to manage, and they deal with a lot of stress - being kind will get you a lot further than being rude. Thanks 2BM for your help last year!

Other than the call the day of to try and change the move date, and a broken mirror- which is not covered by their insurance- it would have been nice to know that ahead of time, seeing as paperwork was signed after everything was loaded. Mirror was not packed well at all- just loosely in a moving blanket- expensive light up make up mirror. Very frustrating. Otherwise the guys were great and moved quickly.

Marc, Charlie & Trevor were fantastic! Not only in moving the heavy piano to our new location but they continued to problem solve the whole way through. All three were friendly, positive and helpful. They also took good care of my belongings. They got the job done and I'd not only use them again but I'd recommend them to anyone else. Thanks again for all your help!

I hired them to move a few things. Most importantly my computer. After 3 no shows on pick up times that I had booked off work they finally arrive and get the stuff. Then almost a week with no contact for a 1 day delivery trip. Finally the stuff arrives weeks later than originally planned and my computer is broken and my monitor is smashed to bits. Unprofessional, Unresponsive, and the most expensive mistake I've ever made!

I hired 2 Burley Men to move my furniture from Calgary to Vancouver in December, 2021. My initial interaction with the company was positive; the movers were friendly and efficient. Although I would've appreciated if they wore masks while in my home (it was at the height of Omicron!) The real issues began when my furniture was delivered in Vancouver. My dining room table was missing and they gave us a stranger's box of belonging. We contacted multiple people at 2 Burley Men regarding the missing table and extra box, but none of them could help us and we were ultimately directed to a woman in customer service. She spent two weeks searching for the missing table, with no updates unless I followed up with her over the phone – no one at 2 Burley Men responds promptly over email. After two weeks of searching for the table, 2 Burley Men let us know that they couldn't locate it and they would reimburse us around $85. There was no apology or sign that they actually cared about their customers' experience. They also told us that movers would pick up the strangers box on a specific date. The date came and went, and no movers ever arrived to pick up the box. This makes me wonder if 2 Burley Men ever actually searched for my table or if it's actually at some stranger's house! Overall, my experience with 2 Burley Men turned sour very quickly. I would not recommend them for long-distance moves. If 2 Burley Men wants a few tips on how they can improve customer experience, here's what I think: 1. Have your movers follow Covid protocols. 2. Streamline your internal communication processes. While trying to find our table, we were directed to multiple people who couldn't help us. 3. Respond to emails promptly! 4. DONT. LOSE. YOUR. CUSTOMERS. FURNITURE. If anyone who's used 2 Burley Men is missing a box of belongings (I believe it contains Christmas decorations and board games) please contact 2 Burley Men again, because I have it!

I had an absolutely awful experience using 2 Burley Men and would like to share my experience so no one else has to go through the same thing. I moved locally within my city. When I called to book I was very honest about the amount of belongings I needed moved. I was told it would cost around $500. After the move was done, my final bill was over $800. I was shocked. In addition to my final bill being much more than I was told originally, the movers also damaged multiple of my belongings. They damaged my nightstand using the dolly, as well as broke my mirror. Both of these items had been moved multiple times before by movers without any damage done to them. I believe these movers were just rough with my belongings. When I returned to my old house, I also realized that instead of moving a second mirror, they had taken it out of one room and deliberately placed it inside a random closet. I have no idea why they would have done that, but had I not gone back to check their work I would have never found it. I reached out directly to 2 Burley Men to give them a chance to make things right. Both for the final bill that was over $300 more than I was prepared for and the multiple damaged items. Upon reaching out, I was told that 1. the estimate was not misquoted (not sure how that could be the case) and 2. the damage to my items was not covered as per the protection plan. Nobody apologized or did anything to make me feel better about the incredibly poor and disappointing experience I had. I would urge you to read this and other reviews prior to booking with this company. Once again, I had a terrible experience with 2 Burley Men. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I had a very negative experience with 2 Burley Men Moving to help with my move from Alberta to BC. So let's begin: 1. I was quoted over the phone with a final price of $3K-$4K. My final bill was closer to $5K. 2. I was told the movers would arrive to load the truck by 9am. I had to call when they didn't arrive, only to be told they'd arrive by 11am because the mover had slept-in that morning. 3. They do not provide any copies of insurance policies or state what they do not cover as far as damages. 4. Upon arriving to my destination, they require payment first, BEFORE you even see if your property is damaged. 5. My wooden bedframe (valued at over $3,000.00) was snapped in half during the unloading process. My wooden bookshelf (valued at over $500.00) was also destroyed and had shelves missing after it arrived. The movers apologized but said I could start a claim, so I did. The claim was denied because they don't cover wooden materials. After I did some digging, I found the terms and conditions on the website. They do not cover ANY damage to your property, no matter the type of material! So basically, the movers can load your high-priced items, get their money before even unloading the truck, then just destroy your possessions without being held liable. I cannot believe such a scam can exist. I thought a local Canadian company would be smart, efficient and trust-worthy. However, they proved themselves to be anything but that. Why would I ever pay a moving company $5,000.00 to destroy my property?
