★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a remarkable Cowichan Tribes ancestral site. It is a special place that preserves the ancient landmarks left by people who lived here for millennia. It's location alongside Somenos Creek, and nestled in the Garry Oak and camas meadow reminds us of the prosperous lives Cowichan peoples have long had. A great place to walk respectfully encounter a space that Cowichan people taught hard to protect for past and future generations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a beautiful spot with gorgeous trees that are quite unique and old. There is a trail that winds through. Doesn't take long at all to walk but is a great spot for stopping by. Like most nature preserves, it is not great to have a major highway nearby. Still worth it everytime to go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ye’yumnuts is a sacred ancestral place of the Cowichan people. I enjoyed the area with its flowing creeks, tall oak trees and evergreens. I believe one can feel the history while there.
