World Gym Penticton

This place is amazing. The staff here are friendly, helpful and approachable, and the change room and equipment are very clean! I've tried two other gyms in town and this one is by far the best so far. Really great classes too, if you get a chance, give them a try!

Definitely the best gym in town! There are many equipment options to choose from, and multiple work out areas so that you always have more than enough space. The staff is super helpful and friendly, and the cleanliness is unmatched. This gym is ideal no matter what workout style you may have.

Amazing customer service, always kind and helping me out with any questions I have. Everyone at the gym and that works at the gym are amazing people. Super friendly!!

A Tale of Two Gyms: I am a retiree who spends half the year in Penticton. I recently inquired at several gyms regarding membership. Narrowed it down to two: World Gym and City Centre Fitness. Both gyms had equipment and atmosphere that suited my needs. The human component however….what a difference! World Gym was prepared to accommodate me by waiving the new member administration fee that I would otherwise be required to pay each year that I returned to Penticton. The alternative was to pay $20 per month to “freeze” my account while I was away and not using the gym. I decided on the first option. I was in the process of paying when I was told about another fee. Not sure of the name but I was told it was to offset their losses due to Covid. I thought, no please, no more fees. The girl on the front counter, pleasant enough, pointed me to the sign on the counter which referred to this particular fee. It was one of those asterisk/fine print items we all know far too well. I asked if it could also be waived. Afterall, I explained that I would be lucky if I used the gym for 4 of the 6 months.. A man on the side spoke up and said that he could waive the fee if he wanted but he did not want to. I asked who he was, he was the owner. At this point my costs came to about $445, we had not started with my partner’s fees yet. I respectfully said that maybe this gym wasn’t the best fit for me. I believe he was in agreement. No raised voices, a cordial understanding. In contrast…. I arrived at City Centre Fitness and was greeted by the owner. A very pleasant man who asked my name and then used it. Seemed genuinely interested in me. I explained the situation at World Gym. He said that they had many different clients and would attempt to accommodate.. There were no sign up fees, no Covid fees, no fine print items. He said it would cost $473 for 6 months for both my partner and me. And get this…while I was away all I had to do was give notice and they would put my account on hold. I said that I would need five months' coverage. They had a promotion for six months but he told me that I could put the account on hold after five months and the sixth month would be there for me when I returned next year. Wow! What a difference. The first was clearly focussed on me fitting into their business plan. The second was focussed on how their business could accommodate me. If you are in the market for a new gym, I would advise that you check out City Fitness as an option. They definitely have the better service and business model from a customer’s perspective. The owner at City Centre Fitness was genuine, respectful and incredible… awesome! Congrats to both for surviving Covid. All the best to your continued success. A little crowded at times but with reason! It's such a good gym. So many options for equipment and such kind staff. Love this gym. I very much recommend it

I have been a member for about 2 years and recently had my 1st squash match since I joined. The courts are very true, well maintained and incredibly clean along with the rest of the club. I know it has been tough on the fitness industry these past 2 years. This is one of the cleanest and best run non-private clubs I have ever experienced. Keep up the great work you guys!

Was a little hesitant to give this gym a try because of the recent negative review below, but I just went in for a trial and was not disappointed! The owner was helpful and the facility is clean, spacious, and has everything I need. Prices are fair and I’m looking forward to coming here regularly and trying out their Olympic lifting classes.
