★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The space is good quality, however, the surrounding building has been under construction for over 2 years, so be prepared for dust, excessive noise, and contractors parking in visitor spots.
The marketing pitch promotes a casual, coworking vibe but, in reality, this is nothing more than a high-priced office hotel, with little interaction between 'guests'.
In our experience of Workplace One, we have found the management to be incompetent, rude, and constantly nickel-and-diming for additional services, and/or rent increases, despite the already high monthly charges. Questions take days/weeks to be responded to, and then the response is typically 'no' or 'for a fee'.
Parking is very poor, with a limited number of spaces and aggressive, borderline illegal enforcement, where multiple tenants have been ticketed despite displaying valid permits.
Much of the space remains empty, so draw your own conclusions from that. Rent is high and deals are contingent upon long contracts. Other serviced office locations in Waterloo and Kitchener offer similar pricing but with more competent management and better locations.
It's a shame because Waterloo needs more flexible office space, but Workplace One misses the mark. We saw almost 100% tenant churn during our tenure, with one tenant being evicted at short notice for essentially no reason, and others leaving because they couldn't stand the way the place is run.
Try it or don't try it. You have been warned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The reception woman was really bad attitude. I have been in both Toronto and Kitchener workplace one couple times. The reception of Toronto office was really nice, while the reception in Kitchener was really rude.
Basically the environment and location is pretty good, it’s just besides Google office building. Only problem is the reception.
Hopefully the managers of Workplace One can improve your service part of your team in Kitchener location.
We want a problem solving person, not a problem arguing person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've used the services of a number of shared workplace locations, but this is my first experience with Workplace One and definitely my last. My business partner and I rented a private office for a few months (Sep-Nov) of 2020.
Upon move out it took them 7 weeks to issue our security deposit back, and within that time they decided to charge us $395 for 'restoration' of the space. We both brought laptops and headphones into the space. This charge was for deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, and other items. To clarify, the office is concrete and again, during COVID the place was spotless. We didn't bring in anything other than a pad of paper, pen and our computers. To us this felt like an absolute cash grab. They did point out that it is buried in the contract that they can charge this, but considering there weren't many people at all renting space at Workplace One and their response I am chalking this up as a desperate attempt to make a few bucks. Even though it was in the fine print, the way they handled this charge (and the 4 week delay in receiving our 1st and last month deposit) was unprofessional.
Note:
I spoke to their corporate director who explained that this charge cannot be negotiated or removed as this isn't 'scalable' with their business process. He then apologized that the deposit wasn't returned (they stated 2-4 weeks, and we received it almost 7 weeks after moving out) and suggested they interac e-transfer us the funds. Ok, so how is that process scaleable? Simply hypocritical. If you're looking for a co-working space I would strongly caution you read the fine print and shop around

All of the receptionists here are very helpful and have exceptional, direct attention to of the members in the building.
I suffered from an injury and had difficulty meeting clients at the front. Andrea, Sarah, and Rochelle have been extremely accommodative and supportive in helping me receive my clients, by bringing them to my office and making the experience here for us positive and undisputed!
The layout to workspace 1 is great! It allows patrons to move about the spaces freely, while minimizing contact and close proximity.
The lounge and meeting room are excellent and provide a feeling of modernization and innovation anywhere in the spaces.
Thanks ladies, for a wonderful experience.
Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic co-working space in downtown Kitchener and right within the same building as Google. I rented a single-person office at WorkplaceOne for about a year and was absolutely satisfied. Definitely the best alternative compared to all the other spots I explored before. Fun and interesting people, free tea and coffee, plus a beer keg in the common area. The staff is also super friendly and helpful. 100% recommend! :)

It was a great space for us to grow and the Workplace One team were great partners -- always helpful and accommodating. We're moving into a leased space now, but we have no regrets about our time at Workplace One in Kitchener.
