We've been to Arrowhead skating, and the free loop in Burlington. Both loops were well maintained and the Zamboni went frequently to clean the ice, so the conditions were great! Arrowhead was $20 for a day pass for the car for the park, Burlington is free and unlimited. I hadn't been to Woodview/Blue Mountain and I was really excited to try it...but this ice was gouged, pitted and in terrible condition, was $17 each on a Wednesday at 4pm (which is the least expensive price, website says $17 - $29), and there's a two hour time limit? Honestly it's not worth the money, and feels like a huge lazy cash grab - they know they don't have to do much. If they're charging that much with a time limit too that ice better be pristine. Collingwood needs to come together to offer a loop through the town that's similar to Burlington's, this area is perfect for it so I'm curious why we haven't!

$38 to skate for 2 hours seemed like robbery. But since it’s Blue Mountain they seem to charge whatever they want because people will pay for a tourist attraction. Let’s not forget the day pass they’ve now required to simply go hiking on the mountain in the summer *eye roll* The track wasn’t maintained well and was rough and bumpy all throughout the loop. The staff promptly stated β€œI’m going to need you to pack up your things and leave” after the 2 hour time period…as we were about to leave. Frankly it was unnecessary, aggressive, and rude - don’t expect decent customer service here. All the track is good for is the views from atop the mountain but save yourself the hassle and money by getting a beaver tail, hot chocolate, and walking along the trails at the top to catch the views. Highly recommend the skating loop at Arrowhead Provincial Park instead - just pay the entrance fee to the park and skate for as long as you want, AND home all day.

Beautiful trail, especially at night with the lights! The trail has a bit of an incline change through the loop, but it is fairly subtle. Likely only resurfaced once per day, as it was quite rough later at night. Well worth the trip!

It cost $26 to skate and $38 to rent skates and skate. It is natural ice so I wouldn't suggest it for newer skaters because the ice is rough. They have the things to assist new skaters though. If you spent half an hour there and did not enjoy it you could always get a refund.

The location and surroundings are stunning and the trail design is excellent. We were leaving just as the evening lights were turning on, and they would be beautiful to skate under. The actual trail surface was very poor: un-groomed very pitted and in some places had long stretches with tread marks. It was also very expensive and not once did we see a staff person on or around the ice. The mountain top view was spectacular.

Impressed, good music, setting, nice outdoor tent. Scenic and long trail. Path not too bumpy. I don't skate often anymore but totally was a great romantic getaway.

If you are ready to pay $26 for two hours of skating, come after dusk. The illumination is spectacular, and the rink is not too crowded. We skated on Sunday between 6 pm and 8 pm - it could be busier on Friday or Saturday evening. The ticket shack closes around 7:30 pm. Since nobody checks the tickets, it might be possible to skate for free. I had an Ikon pass, which gives a few discounts here and there on the Blue Mountain, and I habitually asked if it applied to skating tickets. To my astonishment, the cashier said yes, 50% off with an Ikon pass, starting Monday. I was not what she meant: whether the discount program would begin for the first time on Monday or that the discount worked only on the workdays. Once you've put on skates in the tent, be very careful getting to the main skating trail - the ice around the tent is very bumpy. If you are not a good skater or just want to race with your friends, grab one of the red "walkers" thingies (see photo). There are benches along the trail to rest or tighten the laces, and the piles of snow alongside the rink come in handy if you don't know how to stop. I am giving it four stars because the price of a ticket is unjustifiably high. Ikon pass holders: you'll get 50% off on certain days. Sunday is not one of them, and I assume neither is Saturday and maybe even Friday.

Beautiful illuminated skate trail that winds through the forest atop Blue Mountain. Trail changes elevation though suitable for all skill levels. There's a decent sized rink as well. Skate rentals available on site. Large lace up tent, public washrooms, toasty log fire. TICKET PRICE PER PERSON IS SHOCKINGLY HIGH.
