This is a great museum that provides a rich history of Sitting Bull and the Lakota First Nations people who came to Wood Mountain after the Battle of the Little Big Horn. The museum discusses their time hear, and enhances the story with authentic artifacts collected from the area, and community. The museum also provides history of the NWMP police post in Wood Mountain. I suggest you visit to take in the information and see a great collection of artifacts (jail cell, tools, authentic furniture, tools, saddle, etc.). The visitor center is open in the summer from 10-5 and the interpreters are very helpful in providing more information about the history as well as the area.
