Wouldn't answer a quick question without a retainer and then the lawyer hung up on me without even saying bye

HORRIBLE! I was disappointed as this firm was recommended to me (as a referral) and I absolutely would not hire them, and I do not recommend them.. Called to get advice / understand what would be involved in proceeding with a claim or if a claim would be even feasible. Took over a week to get back to me, and the female lawyer I spoke with was condescending, dismissive, did not listen and didn't care. The only thing she did care about was telling me if I wanted advice I was to hire them, that they didn't do "free consultations" and that if I did hire them, there would probably be an initial retainer of about $3000.00. Not impressed.

Probably the most knowledgeable lawyer on the new condo regulation. Hugh met with our Owners to discuss changes in the bylaws. The meeting was very well conducted, very informative, and created a lot of confidence in our Owners about the new regulation and bylaws.

I told Ron and staff that I would leave a positive review based on my interactions with Ron who came highly recommended to me. He suggested I pay a $2000 retainer without giving a consultation. Which I stupidly agreed to. After two phone calls, and a couple of emails, Ron said he couldn't help me with my case. I asked for a refund and was completely floored to see the final bill just shy of $1500. The admin assistant also made errors on my file and had the wrong employer listed. She was corrected several times by me. All in all, I would suggest calling around to lawyers who can provide a free consultation. Had I know it was going to cost this much for a couple of phone calls, I would not have paid the initial retainer. Disappointed is putting it lightly. Why take a retainer if you knew you couldn't help me? And why charge so much when you knew I didn't have income at the time?

I have worked with many law firms and these guys are professionals in all aspects. I would 100% recommend working with them and ignore the negative comments left by people who want free legal advice and are upset because they have to pay a retainer, some people lack common sense. Amber has always been a wealth of knowledge and is a life saver in sticky situations.
