White Mountain Adventures - Banff

My wife and I did the snowshoeing hike up Sunshine Mountain last month. Jeff was our guide. He was very knowledgeable, fun and accommodating to the various fitness levels of the group. He brought hot chocolate and cookies for a snack and we look forward to returning. Visibility was poor but the experience was still amazing! Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Banff!

Our guide was amazing. She was very fun and knowledgable. Had a wonderful experience, worth every penny. She knew the terrain well and made the entire experience awesome.

We had a great day at Fortress Mountain snowshoeing! Alex, our guide was awesome. He combined lots of interesting bits of area history into our snowshoeing adventure. He was a great host from beginning to the end of our trip. This was our first time snowshoeing in the mountains and it was everything we expected. Thanks White Mountain for a great day.

I have wanted to snowshoe Fortress Mountain Resort for so long now. And today I have crossed out one of my bucket list. It was so easy booking online. This was worth the money I paid for. Our Guide Marc really made us feel at home in the Rockies and he was really passionate about his guiding job. Although there was a snowstorm he made sure all of us are enjoying the weather.This is an experience you can't bypass you will be in an exclusive ski resort where towering fortress walls provide the scenic view.

Signed up my parents for snowshoeing tour to Sunshine Village. They had a fantastic time and raved about the views and their guide Jenn. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to see the Rockies from a world class ski resort without having to ski.

We booked the "Snowshoeing on Top of the World at Sunshine Village" on december 27th with 2 guides (Matt and Jen). It was FABULOUS. The 2 guides were very friendly, PROFESSIONAL and passionate. They put safety first as they decided to do kind of a hybrid of a hike due to the conditions (extremely cold that day, -33 C), without altering the experience. At first we were pretty worried because of a very bad experience we had a day prior (fell into a frozen lake at -40 C with an irresponsible guide) and also due to the extreme conditions of the day (-33 C). My mom was even more worried as she was the oldest and was afraid to slow the group down... She even thought of not doing the hike at all. When we told Jen, she immediately reassured us and especially my mom, as she told her that we would stay in group and she would never be left alone since they were 2 guides. She also never rode a chairlift before, and Jen took all the time and precautions needed to ensure that she stayed safe. We also emailed them 2 days before and they answered pretty quickly. As we had more questions, we also emailed them the morning of the hike and they answered immediately. As for the hike itself, the view was stunning. We even got to know a little bit about the place, and Jen and Matt were really good at answering questions we had. We could observe some animal trail and Matt had little cards to show us what the animal that made the trail looked like. In terms of difficulty, this hike is considered "moderate to strenuous". My mom (62 y.o.) found it quite hard but enjoyed it so much as he could take her time and stop to catch her breath when she needed. I found it quite easy (26 y.o.) but enjoyed it as well since I could run and play around. In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend this hike even in the winter, as it is suitable for all physical conditions and you are guaranteed to be safe at all times, and a LOT of fun ! We definitely will be booking other hikes with them again, winter or summer !!

My husband and I enjoyed the Snowshoe on Top of the World tour with White Mountain Adventures and must acknowledge our guide Kristy. We are in our early 60's, healthy, and hike a lot, but had done little snowshoeing. We had no difficulties. Kristy (our guide) was very knowledgeable about snowshoeing, mountain conditions and safety, but beyond that she was very personable and just delightful to spend the afternoon with. Being that high up the mountain provides a very unique perspective that at times seemed a little surreal. We had a combination of cloud, wind, snow and sun and it was amazing how quickly the views would change. All in all a very good experience that we would recommend.

My husband and I loved the Snowshoe adventure at Sunshine Meadows we did a few months ago. It was so much fun and our guide Adrienne was amazing. She was extremely knowledgeable about the area and the plants and animals that are local to that elevation. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone and would do it again!
