★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm about half a year late writing this, but we couldn't be happier with our flooring from Whelan's. Not only was Brad great in helping us choose a hardwood option that would run the expanse of our entire main floor (within our budget), but we managed to get our renovation completed in a timely fashion so we could move into our new house (the guys at Floorwerx were professional and did a fantastic job covering 1500 square feet of flooring with care). Thanks Jimmy and Brad, we are so happy with how it turned out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Over $1330 worth of flooring ordered and did not arrive as stated. We had to call them to trace ... they advised it was stuck in the shipping container backlog. Refund given. Promised to send pics of similar flooring ... never arrived. Went to another store ... original flooring available by land from New Jersey within 2 weeks ... and at $1.00 less a tile!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our experience with Whelans was awful. We dealt with them on an insurance claim and we were important to them until they secured our business and were then neglected completely. We were treated as an insurance cheque rather than customers.
Our phone calls were not returned; our installer only brought a portion of our floor with the rest to follow a week and a half later, with no notice given. We were assured the rest would be delivered on a given day, which came and went with no word only to be told when we called the truck was out of service and we had to pick up the order ourselves.
Product backorders are understandable, as are mechanical problems. What is not understandable is how often they had a chance to let us know what was happening and choosing not to do so. One assumes the next sales opportunity surely got their phone call.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went in looking for backsplash tile. I hadn’t realized it was by appointment only due to COVID, but they were kind enough to let me have a look and one of their salespeople helped me. I found a tile I liked, so took a photo and a sample home. I emailed a week later to confirm they had the tile in stock because I had decided I wanted it, and questions about installation. I never heard back so a week later I called. I was asked who had helped me the day I had been in, we eventually figured it out as I had missed the name. She said she would have the salesperson call me back for the order. I never heard back and subsequently bought tile elsewhere. I’m not sure how they run a business that way, not replying to customer emails or phone messages who actually want to purchase their product. We have flooring projects we are planning and would have been happy to purchase from them, but not after that experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst customer service ever! Every excuse possible given for multiple delays from ordering getting mishandled to scheduling of installation. Simple did not want to listen or take responsibility for anything, in fact tried to blame me - the customer for their misgivings. If this is how they treat a customer with a $20,000 + order, I cannot image how they would treat someone who was refinishing just one room at a time? The service under Rob and Chris Whelan is nothing like to was when Brad Whelan was there. Will not recommend.

I choose Whelan's for their large selection from established & reputable suppliers, product knowledge, skilled installers and friendly atmosphere. Above all, it is their exceptional customer service that allows me to confidently refer them to family, friends and clients time and again. Thank you Jim, Chris, Rob Brad and Sheena! I am getting many compliments on my new hardwood flooring. Thanks Brad and Chris for handling my last minute request for stair carpeting at my listing. It received rave reviews at the open house!
