Delays from this incompetent company caused over 48 hours in travel delays, left my wife and I without food, water or a place to sleep and in unsafe conditions numerous times. I’d rather swim home from Europe than fly with WestJet ever again.

Well the old propeller type planes used for national travel should be retired. The flight Calgary- Penticton is risky. The poor shape planes causing constant delays and plane switch. They announce it as a very unusual thing. Really?Happened today. Happened a month ago. I observed another westjet plane today, that had only one of the two engines running and people were turned back. Again. Very common thing. The travelers were offered pretzels. That's it. 4-5 hours delay- here's a bag of pretzels. Dissapointing. Time to upgrade some planes, perhaps technicians.

We had a flight booked to Hawaii with WestJet in January... needless to say, after many cancellations, delays, bumping our flights etc. We had to book a last-minute flight with AirCanada the DAY-OF travel as Westjet continued to screw us around.... submitted an APPR Claim over 45 days ago... Westjet says they will respond to the claim "within 30 days"... still haven't heard from them. No refund for the flight not taken with Westjet and no compensation for the additional flight costs we had to incur... Where's my "30-day" response WestJet?

I have been flying with and supporting WestJet for over 15 years, even when their prices aren’t better because of the customer service and consistently great experience. This was the first time I have flown post-pandemic and have to say this was hands down the worst flight experience I’ve had with WestJet! It seems things have changed significantly, as most of the staff were either rude, grumpy or simply ineffective. There is no sense left of what ‘WestJetter’ used to mean, from my recent experience. On top of this, there was no communication that there would be no inflight entertainment or tv’s on the 4 hour flight. I then purchased the full flight time Internet package on my laptop, only to find out it blocks you from streaming anything to watch. I was not aware there was a rule about volume playing on a phone. I didn’t have any headphones, other than the WestJet ones I brought that wouldn’t work with my iPhone. I put the volume on low and the captions on, and watched this way for over two hours, not disturbing anyone, seen multiple times by all FA’s. Not long before the flight was over, one came and told me what I was doing wasn’t okay and to turn off my (barely able to hear) volume. Delivery couldn’t been a little less demanding, and again after 3 hours, with 30 minutes left… ineffective. All around not at all a nice experience. Sadly, my brand loyalty and support for WestJet is in the past after this flight from Toronto. (WS675)

They can’t be anything more frustrating than a WestJet/Delta combo flight to the states. Neither have each other conf #, can’t talk to each other etc. the result? wasted HOURS on hold with both airlines trying to get checked in. Not one flight but every WestJet/delta combo for the last six months.

Very disappointed and disrespectful experience My first flight with west jet. As usual I’m flying with business class. However this time I’ve made a mistake and instead of buy it it right away I went through an upgrade (you buy economy and then upgrade to the business) I’ve done it many times with Air Canada and worked just fine. You pay a bit more as you would pay for the business class since it’s done through the upgrade however you still get all the benefits. With west jet it’s a different story, I’ve paid about 15% more through an upgrade then other people paid for the same business class flight. However I’ve got zero benefits. I had to pay for my check it bags. I wasn’t allowed in the lounge. When I offered to pay, found out that they don’t take cash and the machine wasn’t working. After trying for 5 mins and having 20 people in the line behind me I gave up and left humiliated. I won’t be in a surprise if I’ll be also shorted on the breakfast when I get in on the plane. Well my flight is in 40 mins and I’m about to find out.

I just want to send Kudos to a helpful agent. This evening, Matthew S. (Calgary?) did an amazing job of clarifying a discrepancy in some recent bookings. Two flights which were allegedly cancelled (thru a third party) continued to remain as upcoming. We were alerted to this when an email was received reminding us of tomorrow's boarding check in. While we are still awaiting a response, Matthew went above and beyond and corrected this dilemma. He exemplifies the definition of customer service. In times when others just talk about service, Matthew actually made it happen. WestJet truly has in their employees, an Ambassador of the highest calibre in Matthew. Well Done WestJet. And Very Well Done Matthew. Fast. Friendly. Ferociously Customer Service Driven.

I love and dislike this air company all at the same time. Sometimes there are ridiculous delays as for human error and flight time changes around the world which I understand. Other times the service is subpar and not the greatest. But being a flight company and Canadian company, annoyances like this can be forgiven. I also think that they can improve in their communication with clients. Issues should be resolved swiftly and conveniently as their clients are under a lot of stress already.
