About Westerra

Queen City

Regina is the capital of Saskatchewan and the 16th largest city in Canada. Once just a barren grassland, the “Queen City” is now a vibrant and thriving city, home to over 230,000 people and growing steadily. With over 100 parks and an abundance of sports and recreation facilities, arts and cultural centres, museums and performance spaces, Regina offers residents an outstanding quality of life.

Regina was first settled in June of 1882. At the time, the city was known as “Pile of Bones”, due to the large number of buffalo bones found near the current location of Wascana Lake. In 1905, Saskatchewan became a province, and in 1906 Regina was officially named the provincial capital. At the time, Saskatchewan was the fastest-growing province in Canada. With visions of Regina becoming a major National capital, the Saskatchewan Legislative Building was constructed here in 1912.

Known for its warm hospitality, friendly and welcoming people, the City of Regina truly is the Queen Jewel of the Prairies. It’s also a nature-lovers paradise. Regina’s Wascana Centre is an impressive 2,300 acres, bigger than Vancouver’s Stanley Park and Central Park in New York combined!

I've lived here for 6 months now and what I can say is that the houses are fairly big despite what I had in my head and they have 2 parks (although the other one is father away from the houses) the only problem I have is that buses don't come round to the houses and it takes 12 - 50 minutes (depending on whether you're living in the apartments or canola ) to get there. Hopefully that's going to change in the next 2 or 5 years I think.

It's a lovely community. The parks are clean and well maintained. It's a short distance to A.E. Wilson park which connects to trails that lead all the way to the east end. Easy access to Moose Jaw. There's a Co-Op gas bar with car wash. A retirement home is opening soon. I might increase my rating to 5/5 once we get a grocery store because right now I have to go way down McCarthy. A new medical clinic just opened on Dewdney. Looking forward to the restaurants and boutique shops. The hotel will be nice for those who need to get to the airport, or for families visiting those graduating at RCMP Depot. Neighbourhood plans on Westerra website look very promising. Very quick commute to downtown (less than 10 minutes).

Many of the reviews of this area seem to be littered with inaccuracies. Canada post comes out daily, and door dash delivers out here. Telling people to "wait a few years" to move out here only delays bus routes, construction, and snow routes. Bus routes, snow routes, and construction of shopping centers are based on population priority, meaning that the more people who move out here the faster we will receive bus routes, snow routes, and shopping centers. This is a wonderful location that has incredible protentional. People need to move to this community to support it and help it grow. The more people we get out here the better this community will be. Take a chance and move to this wonderful community before you look back and realize you missed a great opportunity.

This looks like it will someday be a really neat, little neighborhood. Very walkable, but still lacks amenities. Once the grocery and independent shops come, this will be one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Regina. There is a bus stop built, but it is still waiting for budget approval from the city to have a bus swing by.

I had an amazing home buying experience with Myles from Rohit Homes. He listened to what I was looking for in a home, provided professional opinion and shared his experience, which made my choices easier and more informed. Quick to reply, Myles is great at what he does, providing excellent customer service. Every step of the way was communicated and I was kept in the loop throughout the whole process. Fantastic experience overall and the home is way more what I was hoping to achieve. Thank you Myles and entire Rohit team!
