★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The West Wind Pass trail (3 miles Out & Back), a great hike in the Kananaskis region. This trail is not well marked, so you need to pay attention to where the signs lead when you first get on it. Also, this was another particularly steep hike, a few of us fell a couple times – but the view from the top is spectacular!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a family friendly hike but not on rainy or snowy day. When it rains, the trail is muddy and slippery. It is very windy up there so be ready with your wind breaker.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little trail! Quite a bit of incline but very manageable! Make sure to pack bear spray as we saw a bear wonder down. Narrow trail but do able for a dog. Worth the view! Took us 2 hours round trip with stopping at the top for lunch! Have fun!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hike, with an amazing payoff in terms of the view. We went with a group of adults and kids ranging from 9 to 16, and everyone made it without too much struggle. Took us just under three hours round-trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent moderate hike with a bit of elevation which ends at Westwinds Pass (which is the start of Windtower Trail). Views from Westwinds are quite gorgeous. Westwinds would be accessible to many weekend warriors in reasonable fitness.
If you are heading up to Windtower, plan for a different day, with sturdy boots, poles, water and a jacket.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mostly a moderate trail but with 2 sections about 2/3 of the way up that are a bit more advanced. Proper footwear strongly recommended. There are a lot of false forks so having the route downloaded for offline GPS is very helpful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short but steep hike climbs to the pass and can be extended with unofficial easy ascent to the summit of Windtower mountain. As a reward you can get excellent views in all directions: 3 Sisters massif, Spray Lakes Reservoir and Mt. Lockheed
