I really enjoyed the process. I discovered Barry is a very special dude. He’s a true professional with a treasure trove of knowledge. He uses his perspective – learned over many years restoring vehicles including some of the most valuable cars in the world (2 best of shows @ Pebble Beach for example) to create high quality solutions for us mere mortals. A custom syncro Westy Barry built for me won best of show at Hollister. Creating it together with him over a period of time was a very satisfying experience. Their standards are very high and I have never been disappointed. When restoring and upgrading older vehicles, there are always surprises (like uncovering more rust than expected) and Werke1 has always handled those surprises with tact and competence, keeping me informed and leading me through best solutions. He could have just gone the easy route and thrown the aftermarket part in the box, but that extra mile is how you win loyal customers who keep coming back over and over. I'm sure he can't do that all the time, but it sure was appreciated in this instance. Not only that, but he was able to combine my orders for shipping even when I was late and disorganized getting a second order placed. Again, not something I'd expect all the time, but shows there's care and attention to the individual customer going on - not something you see often anymore - even when it's not huge orders and when I'm sure he's busy as heck. The whole experience put Werke1 at the top spot in my vendor choices for sure, especially since he carries GoWesty parts in Canada - saves a world of hurt on shipping costs from the U.S.

Barry and Jay have guided me along through upgrading my 1991 Vanagon GL Westfalia with excellent advice and service. Amazingly they have talked me out of some upgrades, offering less expensive and more tailored to my use options. Excellent response to inquiries and extremely efficient shipment of parts. All I can say is that I wish there was a Werke1 equivalent for every vehicle I own. My Westfalia is the lucky girl her name is Chanpaña. The Werke1 guys are experts, they know very, very well what they are doing. It might sound crazy, but we are excited when we are taking our van in.
