I was a dedicated member here for 6 years or so. Did not complain when my rates increased almost double I just did what I could to make payments happen. When covid hit and I was forced to go on the crb I was making substantially less and could not afford full coverage but also was not driving at all and so I switched over to parking Insurance. After some time my rates decreased down to almost 20$/month so I decided I would try full again hoping my rate went down there too. They instead were increased and after one month of that asked to be brought back down to parking. When the time came for them to take the 377$ payment for the kne month of full coverage I had, it was set to come out the same day as my car payment and I knew I only had enuf in my bank for 1 to come out so I called and asked them if they could switch the payment date 2 days ahead. They said I had to contact my broker who told me it was wawanesa who I needed to contact cuz it was direct billing. Needless to say it nsfd and they canceled my policy. 2 weeks later my vehicle was stolen and totalled now and because of that whole 2 day payment issue I am now royally effed over financially. I am a single mother and can't help but wonder why they couldn't just help me to not let it nsf. It's not a regular thing I had asked for in fact I believe it was my only time ever asking. I do not recommend wawanesa to anyone who wants to feel safe or rely on an insurance company .

Got into a car accident with a lady that has this insurance her insurance took full fault now it’s been two years and I’ve tried contacting them over the last few months trying to settle it and to boot I’m still in pain and they reply after 2 years saying there’s nothing they can do about it now .. you’re an insurance company I shouldn’t have to chase you when this is your guys job not my job. They told me to get a lawyer if that’s an issue … you know if I got a lawyer and won you’d have to pay triple then what you could just pay me now. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend anyone using this insurance.. you guys waited so long purposely.. poor customer service.. do your jobs right. I’m still in pain and you guys are just a disappointment

What kind of insurance is this? Robbing from your clients. My husband called to cancel the insurance but you are still deducting payment from our account. And when we called you said that we cannot get the money. When you just FORGOT to cancel even if you confirmed it to us. NEGLIGENCE.

Just stop if you plan to use them. Right now. Went to switch insurance companies(believe it or not) and apparently I had an at fault claim filed against me 8 years ago? It's not on my record, no record of the car I was driving I was driving in the alleged incident, damage to either vehicle, just my license number. Never got a call from them about it, never asked for proof.

I stayed with Drayden Wawanesa in Morinville after my rates increased dramatically. After months of looking at ways to bring down my rates I was assured that my rates would go down at renewal. Rates went down by $25.00! A friend who had an atrocious driving record was paying the same rates as I was. He suggested his insurance company, and the quote I received from them was $80 cheaper per month. When I called Wawanesa to cancel they quoted me an outrageous cancellation fee which was NOT outlined in my policy. I still cancelled bc it was still cheaper than staying with them and their outrageous rates. Please do some shopping around bf you go with Wawanesa.

I was trying to be honest and to do my due diligence to get some extra insurance, so I could ensure my indoor garden for medical reasons. I was met with instant cancellation with my home insurance. I decided to cancel my auto with this company because I no longer felt secure. I do not recommend this insurance because I believe this company does not favour honesty, and it has ended up costing me more of a problem than it was so post to be.

My husband has been with them since 2017. We moved province therefore we cancelled our insurance and were informed by our broker that we would have to pay a penalty for cancelling. The penalty was almost as high as a monthly payment. People, get it together. I cancelled with 4 other insurances and none of them charged me a penalty since I was moving out of province. So disappointing.

So I was involved in a car accident fairly recently. I have full coverage and loss of use insurance (a rental) on my car. Due to the amount of damage done to my car they have decided to write it off. Now what they don't tell you is once they decide to write your vehicle off and pay it out. They will no longer supply you with a rental vehicle while you to try and sort out getting a replacement vehicle. We spend all kinds of money for insurance and when you need them most they use loop holes in their policies to screw you over. They try and make you feel like the person who is a fault. They clearly have no compassion or concern for their clients. So I told them once the claim was done I was going to cancel my policy. I was told that I was going to charger a cancellation fee. On what planet does it make sense to continue to pay for something you are no longer using. All Wawanesa cares about is the money they con their clients out of. Once this ordeal is done I will never use or recommend Wawanesa to anyone. Stay away from this company they clearly care more about the bottom line then their long term and loyal clients. Anyone who works or is affiliated with Wawanesa should be a shamed of themselves.
