β β β β β Skip this shop if your looking for somewhere to sit, and keep your things close. When I arrived at waves I went to the bathroom, I waited for about ten minutes. When the guy came out, I was handed a bathroom key with blood on it. Not only that there were needle drops of blood all over the bathroom floor. I sat in the shop for three hours, and watched three men run a surprisingly successful drug operation in full view of the staff. In the time I spent there I saw no less then ten drug deals. One character decided to light up a bowl of crack/meth in the shop, blowing a sizable cloud of vapor into the coffee shops air. Only to be chased out of the shop by his drug dealers for the indiscretion. This is the community that comes with the shop, unless your apart of it, your better not to hangout. On a lighter note the coffee is pretty good for the price.

β β β β β The two young girls serving today mid-saturday doesn't even speak proper english. Asked for 2 drinks iced. First girl has to get 2nd girl. 2nd girl finishes order. Reconfirmed both regular sized iced... out pops out 2 hot drinks. Tell her we asked for iced, she looks confused thinking we were talking about size? Had to debate it for over a minute until she finally understood and remade it, whole time talking some foreign language to the first girl.... really have no clue at all.

β β β β β Quite good cappuccino, the lady behind the counter was really nice. Not the coziest place, but okay.
The neighborhood is really challenging, customers are from the lower part of the social ladder. The more important it is to keep businesses like a good coffee store in this area. It must be a challenge, though...

β β β β β Doctors selling controlled meds and the staff know it. They don't look there way. I go there sometimes because I do security nearby.

β β β β β Ordered the larger size (the Wave size) and she made me a small size.. Not impressed - She charged me for the wave size too! I was late for class, so I didn't realize til I was half way home.

β β β β β Clean, friendly staff and are very quick with your order ?, go there often and always have a mocha with dark chocolate and whipped cream it's very good. Two weeks ago one of the ladies decided to play some joke on me, I ordered my usual mocha she turned her back on me and said mocha and made me a hot chocolate with a teaspoon amount of whipped cream ? as if I couldn't tell the difference, can't understand why she would do it, I am friendly to all the stuff that work there, I played along with it and didn't say anything, but if it happens again I'll have something to say. Bad joke to play on a regular customer and paying $6 for a mocha.

β β β β β The staff inside work incredibly hard in likely THE toughest place in Vancouver to work. The coffee is usually good and worthwhile but everyone must understand this place is very near the core of Vancouver's drug use community. Please never belittle addicts or those around addicts, most are good people struggling but there are bad people that prey on the vulnerable. You will find more good than bad inside but it is definitely not for everyone. Some inside are trying to escape the weather, some are looking to hide from the world, ALL are just trying to survive. Please be kind and realize where you are before visiting.
