The lady doctor at the Salmon Arm Walmart walk in clinic saved my life! I came in after three days of back pain in April hoping for some muscle relaxants. Even though it was a few minutes before closing she looked at me and sent me straight to the hospital emergency with a letter stating I was "experiencing crescendo angina." Ì was admitted to intensive care., diagnosed with a heart attack and received a stent. If it wasn't for my wonderful young son-in-law who literally dragged me to the clinic and the wonderful doctor at the walk in I wouldn't be alive today. I was a healthy mid-fifties female and yes in woman heart attacks "present themselves differently. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I just moved here from Manitoba and had to leave with out having a long awaited for surgery. Finding doctors across Canada is a tough project. I entered the walk in clinic and was greated by very helpful and pleasant staff. It was lunch time and was told to come back at 1255. When i arrived i waited no more than 5 mins. The doctor was very helpful and knowledgeable. Very pleasant. Although not accepting new patients at this time she immediately made me referrals to get the surgical process started. I believe that the frustration not only lies within the patient but with the physicians as well. They can not be expected to work 24 hours a day but they did their best to see that i was not forgotten in the doctor shortage. Thanks again.

I was on vacation at Shuswap Lake and came down with a painful ear infection. I caught a ride into Salmon Arm first thing in the morning hoping to get some help and called ahead on my cell phone and this clinic was the only one that answered my call. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating and although I could not make the appointment opening they offered me later in the day , they suggested if I was willing to wait in the parking lot they might be able to squeeze me in. I got dropped off and called on my cell phone and was lucky enough to get in to see a doctor quite quickly and she was extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. I was in and out in under an hour and able to enjoy the rest of my vacation! I can't say enough about how positive my experience was. Thank you and well done!

I visited there without any appointment, still they let me in with smile. Front desk ladies were very nice and professional, and atmosphere was full of positive vibes. In few moments I was seen by doctor Alex. She greeted me very nicely. She was very calm polite and humble person. She knows her job very well. I am very satisfied with this experience and strongly recommend this place. Thanks everyone.

From my experience, this is the worst medical clinic in the Shuswap and the worst I have ever ever ever had to deal with in 38 years. Completely disorganized, incompetent and rude. The receptionist has made my wife cry on multiple occasions by belittling her and making her feel at fault for the clinic's deficiencies. Dr's office did not properly file and/or submit my wife's insurance claim paperwork to her insurer, Manulife, for an injury. My wife has followed up at least four times with the receptionist, over a 51 day period after having surgery due to her accident, very politely asking, requesting, reminding the receptionist to send the paperwork to Manulife as they have not received it. The receptionist at this office has absolutely no empathy or regard for the situation my wife is in and endured after her accident, which ultimately led to surgery. The receptionist keeps brushing her off, saying "I'll get to it, I know, it's on my desk, it's been sent to Manulife...." Well Manulife has nothing. Makes my wife and I wonder who has all of my wife's private and confidential information that this office has been apparently faxing away to Manulife, who is not receiving it.....? After 51 days of frustration, I decided to call the Dr's office and speak to Dr Plessis, as maybe Dr. Plessis does't know how poor her receptionist is. Speaking with Dr. Plessis, she said she will look into but told me that "asking to speak to the doctor directly and pulling the doctor from an appointment to speak with me about my wife's medical claim, lost paperwork in cyberspace, and a staffing issue with the clinic's receptionist is completely unprofessional and uncalled for" and nearly hung-up on me. I guess my wife's lost paperwork that is 51 days overdue is less significant than her other patient in the waiting room. I kind of wonder if it's a top-down, workplace cultural issue rather than a receptionist issue? Look elsewhere if you want to be heard, appreciated and cared for.

Its ridiculous that the phone doesn't get answered untill 9:00am but by 9:01 am their automated system says ' we are book for the day and no longer taking calls'. Yet your only option to be seen is by calling the day you want an appointment? And if u don't get a slot in that 1 minute time frame they wont book for another day its " out of their hands". Never had such issues being seen at a clinic - id suggest going else where but ALL the clinic in salmon arm are the same

I had an appointment today to get my iud removed with Dr Megyesi, i’m 18 years old and i’ve had it for quite a while, the side effects were beginning to become too much to handle, after a lot of research i went to her to have it removed. to start off i was extremely nervous and scared, and she made it all worse, first she came into the office and was texting on her phone, i asked to have it removed and listed the reasons why, i felt like she was badgering me with questions and speaking to me in a condescending way, one example is i told her about weight gain, she then looked me up and down and told me “you’re probably just eating too much” then she went on a rant about how “people tend to blame their birth control on weight gain, when that’s never the case”. i told her i wanted to give my body a break from birth control which she then lectured me on how “that’s not a thing”. she offered an ultra sound to see if my iud was in place instead of removal, i explained to her Again, that it was the side effects that i could no longer normalize, then she said “okay” in a aggressive annoyed tone, then told me to lay down. the procedure i can hardly think about without tearing up. she didn’t explain what she was going to do she just started aggressively doing the procedure, i didn’t know what was happening, she was quite rough, it caused me a lot of pain and discomfort and it hurt more than anything i’ve ever done, when she was done she held my iud up in my face and stated loudly “see there’s nothing wrong with it”, even though i said over and over again that it was the side effects i was struggling with (i knew it wasn’t displaced) she then told me to “leave the door open when you’re done” and didn’t give me any aftercare instructions. this doctor made me feel extremely uncomfortable, i feel like she talked at me and not to me, i was more upset leaving and she made me feel incredibly stupid, if i could give her a -5 i would, 1 star doesn’t explain her lack of patient care skills. there is a lot i left out because it’s too upsetting for me to put in to words

I had an appointment with Dr. Megyesi on January 19, 2022 at the Walmart clinic in Salmon Arm to discuss my maternal care. My current doctor is due with her baby at the same time as I am, so this was an opportunity to meet Dr. Megyesi and see if I wanted her to deliver my baby. My experience with Dr. Megyesi was truly horrible. Allow me to go into detail. This is something I will never forget: While Dr. Megyesi was taking my baby's heart rate , she was talking about stillbirth. In a moment that was meant to be beautiful, magical and about LIFE, she managed to cloud with death. She didn't say once "Here is your baby" or "The heart rate sounds great." She displayed zero connection to my baby or to act as a connection between my baby and me. In this crucial moment, her words were traumatic and her timing is absolutely horrible. She spent the majority of our time together talking about the risks of stillbirth associated with going overdue and how critical it is to be induced if you go overdue. I was two weeks overdue with my first child. I went into labour naturally and gave birth naturally and without complications. She was also commenting on the risks associated with my age ( 38! ) and how tilted my uterus is. Not ONCE did she ask how my pregnancy was going or how I was feeling. Not once. In every experience I have had in past maternal care appointments, the doctor or midwife always asks how the pregnancy is going. It is standard practice. Dr. Megyesi showed zero interest or connection to my baby. She showed zero interest or connection to me as a patient. If I was not a strong and informed woman who advocates for herself, I would most likely be setting myself up for a deeply traumatic birth with this doctor. I feel deeply sorry for any women who go to her and are not in tune with themselves or the care they deeply deserve in their pregnancy and birth. Surely she is a doctor who has delivered healthy babies in the past, and saved lives, but she clearly does not genuinely care for who is on her table. I am planning to launch a complaint with the BC College of Physicians. Do not go to Dr. Megyesi r for your maternal "care". Needless to say, I would never let Dr. Megyesi deliver my baby.
