Anyway, it seems like your pet's health will be in competent and compassionate hands if you bring them here. ?
J	Joe Hawken on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just had an awesome experience with Village Animal Hospital in Lakefield. Our mini labradoodle, Burleigh (yes, named after Burleigh Falls) had minor surgery to remove several masses on her back. We have been living at the family cottage since July but officially live in Grimsby where our Vet is. We drove home for the surgery and again 10 days later to have the staples and stitches removed. Unfortunately within a couple of hours after staple removal, one of the incisions re-opened and thus, back to the vet to get a couple more staples before coming back up here. We really did not want to make the drive 10 days later all the way back to Grimsby for just two staples. We called many clinics and none would see us claiming to be too busy. Village Animal Hospital was the opposite. They were completely understanding of the situation, thoughtful, courteous and wanting and willing to help. They made time for us that afternoon and had the staples out (semmingly painlessly I might add) in mere seconds. I was told on the phone earlier in the day there would be a small charge to remove the staples bc they were not the ones to perform the surgery. This was perfectly reasonable and expected but instead they did not charge us anything!!! Thank you so much! We have made a donation to the Peterborough Humane Society in your name. They have been very professional about maintaining covid protocols but set up their office so we could see her having her appointment.

They were very kind with the exception of Colleen (a tech) who clearly believes that shaming paying clients is okay. She got really adamant when I told her I couldn't afford their vet food and intimated that I wasn't a good pet parent. Not cool.

We recently had to have our dog put down due to neurological issues related to her advanced age. This was an extremely dramatic experience for me and my wife. Out of nowhere, we get a call from this vet saying that our deceased animal's paw print was ready to be picked up. We had no idea what they were talking about, but apparently they make a casting of some sort. They would have had to have done this after she had passed, because it never happened prior. They did NOT ask how we felt about this, nor did they ask for our permission. We would not have provided it. It feels like they were uncaring, inconsiderate, and quite frankly, somewhat violating to our poor dog after her passing. I'm pretty disgusted by this whole thing.

They have been such a difference for the better from my old vet- very professional, friendly, excellent communication. The vets seem very well educated and up to date on current research and knowledge, and I never feel pressured to purchase anything, they always present you with options that suit your needs. My animals all seem very comfortable with them, and seem to have happy, stress-free visits. I brought in a stray kitten recently and they were very accommodating getting me booked in for a last minute appointment, and have been fantastic in regards to giving me advice and promptly ordering in everything she needs. Would recommend to anyone with a 4-legged family member.
